Amazon Customer: I have used this product in my breadmaker. I measured from the packets the amount required for the recipe. I will purchase this by the jar in the future. The jar will be more convenient.

Bojangles, Sr.: I used this yeast for my pizza, through all 3 packs, and it got the job done. I decided to opt for the jar version of a different brand because the sealed packs come with a bit of excess, and I had to seal them up with clip and inside ziplock bag afterwards. If you're looking to use some yeast for the short-term, I recommend getting these packs. If you're going to be making things that require specific measurements of yeast, get the jar.

Michael McGrady: I prefer Fleishman's yeast, but will get Red Star sometimes too. I did recently get a Red Star 3 count package with a far off expiration date, but all the packets contained dead yeast (it was dark tan, didn't proof); however, I'm not sure I got that at Whole Foods, and anyway I guess that happens sometimes, but it's the first and only time that's ever happened to me. I'll get it again at Whole Foods when in the need.

tlyn: I needed yeast and I bake a lot , I love and have always Red Star brand. I looked everywhere locally to find yeast and couldn't and finally found it here on Amazon. The best use date is like 2 years from now and I have used one pack already and it worked just great as I would have expected. If you order any just make sure you keep it in a cool dry place and it will last for the 2 yrs. and still be active. I'm not sure what more I can write about 'yeast' but it's a great brand name that I have used for years and never had any problems with. It arrived packaged well among other items in an order.
