I add one pound to get actual pressure reading.

Alex B.: I bought this gauge since it had a straight chuck at the end which enables me to push the chuck straight into the tire valve, as opposed to other gauges with angled chucks. The gauge is very accurate and reads the same pressure as my digital tire gauge.

Kenneth A. Edelstein: You already know what it is used for, and that tire pressure is important for many reasons. So rather than bore you with what you already know............... It is rugged with a generous rubber ring around the meter. I really like the direct, no angle - method of attaching. Those angle ones always seem to me to have the cord in the wrong place and are harder to position. I don't like similar products that "lock on" why? Locking on is right for an inflation device, not a quick measuring device. It's my practice to overfill (cold tires please) a few pounds and use the "release button" to bleed off air pressure till its "right on" - EZ to do with this unit.

Michael T. Donahoe: I've used Accugages for years, and believe they are, at the least, very accurate. However, I own this model, sans the rubber protector, and I've had it for three years. Recently, it began leaking air from where the hose connects to the gauge. I tracked the leak and found it came from where the hose is crimped to the metal part that enters the top of the gauge. This rendered the gauge useless, as it leaks air from the tire while checking the pressure.
Regardless, I just purchased another one from Amazon, hoping the new one won't also "blow" it as quickly.
Edit: I got the new one yesterday, and it gauges all right, but it's supposed to hold the pressure reading until you press the button on the neck. It doesn't. The needle goes back to zero on its own. I am sending it back for a replacement. Hopefully, the issue was just a fluke. We'll see.
Edit again: I just received a replacement for the new gauge (only a day after returning the one I just bought). Everything, including the pressure release, works fine. Okay, I'm happy now.

tom gozdalski: Works as expected, appear to be accurate. Very happy with gauge so far. Not sure about long term reliability yet.
