Kimberly T: I already knew some of the information but Dr. Gottfried does a great job at breaking everything down and making it sustainable to apply to real life. This book has really helped me while going through early menopause. I recommend this to every female I know around my age (40) and older.

Amazon Customer: This book is a great value. The information and clarity about Keto is tremendous. I am not a cook and have made several of the easy recipes and WOW they are so yummy. Passed along two recipes to a gourmet cook and she said “wow” a meal you can serve to family & guests!

J.A.W.: Starting with the good, my friend and I are doing it together and we've both lost 8 lbs in the last 14 days following her cleanse plan. For the most part, I am not starving either due to recommended fat macros. It's got me eating a lot more plant based fats than a traditional keto diet and low starch vegetables which has forced me to expand my cooking skills.

On the other hand...

I am concerned for success when weaning from the 28 day program as the chapter reviewing that section is very short which is frustrating when you'll spend most of your time on that area.

For someone who may not have a lot of experience tracking macros, weighing/measuring portions, following a high fat diet, it won't be easy as it's not a simple to follow plan.

She suggests several supplements but isn't always clear on how much, what types, time of day, conflicts with other supplements, etc.

Finally, her recipes are not great. She does not include macro counts on her recipes which is annoying but they also don't adhere well to her own plan (or taste very good.) One collagen coffee shake recipe she shares has 4 different fat sources and takes up an entire days macro count...

Vvega: I went from being MISERABLE about my body to seeing a difference in like 3 weeks. Im 7 weeks in and my god what a difference. Some of the ingredients are a lil hard to find here (i dont live in LA and have a ton of money) so I feel like that was a lil out of touch with the audience that may read this. But info wise and re-wire your body wise.. life changing. If youre over 35, GET THIS BOOK.

Karen Hartigan: This would be a good book on a couple of conditions. I would want a doctor who could check my hormone levels and my family doctor said I would need an endocrinologist for that and they are very difficult to get in with. The big issue for me is she was pushing a modified keto diet and that's not the type of food plan I am interested in so I sent the book back. I want to change my diet for life but I have never be interested in Keto. At 62 I would love to have my hormone levels checked because they impact so MANY areas of your health.

Jeronimo: I bought this book because I’m interested in learning about the relationship between hormones and diet/ nutrition so that I can put it into practise. It is a fairly informative book in that respect and I will use much of the information as guidance in my own diet, but will probably choose not to follow it to the nth degree (as I’m not sure I want to work that hard, measuring every gram). I will see how it goes. As others have said, the style of the book probably appeals more to the American market, there are endless case story examples of clients, and the resulting tone comes across like a salesperson trying to convince a potential customer to buy. That tone gets tedious. I don’t want to be convinced, and just wanted the biological facts, the “how to” and relevant food and recipes so that I can try it for myself, to get my groove back. I ended up skimming/ skipping the long winded repetitive information and case studies, and went through the book with a highlighter pen to get to the nuts and bolts. I would recommend that approach unless you enjoy wading through repetition. The information re which foods work well, intermittent fasting and the recipes is useful.

RMac: I decided to get this book after having some health issues (digestive problems, autoimmune disorder, hormone imbalance). I just finished my 28 days and feel better than I have in quite some time. I have had zero digestive problems, no inflammation episodes, and more energy. I also lost 11 pounds after not being able to lose weight no matter how much I exercised or restricted calories over the past couple of years. (I am 51, 5"7 and started at 154 lbs)

The first week was the hardest since I had to completely change my eating habits. Once I made a plan it was not too difficult. The only recipe I used from the book was the Tahini bread. I ate lots of vegetables, seafood, and soup. Making sure I consumed enough calories was difficult at times. I became a big fan of sunflower seed butter, macadamia nuts, and canned mackerel (which I like much more than tuna in making salad). I will begin reintroducing foods this week and plan to use my keto-mojo to see how my body responds. I also incorporated intermittent fasting (14 hours of fasting/10 hour eating window) and drank lots of water. I had no problem with the keto flu or lack of fiber.

I found this book to be very helpful...
