LN: I used these in two applications - on old cabinet doors and on older wardrobe doors.

The wardrobe needed to have an extra piece of wood added to give this hardware something to seat into. Make sure you have at least an inch of same-level wood to attach the bigger end to or can add one.

The screws are small and well chosen for the application. In both of my spaces they did what they needed to do without threatening to poke through any of the surfaces.

The magnet are strong enough to catch and hold a door as it swings shut, even a fairly tall one (4 foot tall doors). The magnets aren’t so strong that it takes a fight to open the doors.

For situations where doors may be a little bowed or otherwise no longer straight vertical surfaces OR if there’s a little gap between where you can screw the head in and where the moving part that holds the magnetic disk is, the head has a few millimeters of adjustable tolerance built in to the design. I used that where a shelf didn’t quite extend out far enough to contact the door surface but I needed the magnetic parts to span that 0.5cm gap.

LSB: These little helpers allow my cupboard doors to easily stay closed and keep prying kitty paws from opening them. Our cupboards used to have the indoor plastic child lock latches that got so old they eventually broke. That was fine because they also were no longer holding the cupboards tightly closed, either. We installed these magnets and they work beautifully. If I have a complaint (aside from not being skilled enough to quickly and easily install them but, once you get the hang of it and NOT dropping the drill on your head, you're good to go) it's that I now have extras and I'm fighting the urge to install them all over!

Bruce HBruce H: Although designed for cabinet doors, I adapted these catches to hold a patio door screen tightly closed after the original spring latch broke. This screen has a wood frame and is pulled closed by a spring. The spring accelerates the door toward the jamb but does not actually hold it against the jam. With a broken latch, the door bounces off the jamb and leaves a 1/2 inch gap - not good for a screen door.

I originally expected to put the magnet on the door and build a little block on the jamb to hold the metal target disk but was happy to discover that 2 of the 4 magnets had the North pole facing out and the other 2 had the South pole facing out. As shown in the photos, I took advantage of this arrangement and mounted one magnet (say the N pole one) on the door and a S pole one on the jamb, creating a really strong catch.

Of course, there is no guarantee that you will get 2 matched pairs instead of all 4 having the same pole facing out.

I expect any of the reviewers who thought the magnets were too weak do not have them installed correctly. The magnet must be in full contact with the metal target disks. Any gap or angular misalignment will greatly reduce the...
