Joe H: The main difference between these replacement catches, and the originals, is the original fit entirely within the hole drilled at the top of the door and these replacements have a plate that needs to be accounted for when determining clearance at the top of the door. You could always use a chisel and recess the plate into the door, similar to the catch plate on a typical door lock.
