I have three cabinets in a carport that is open on two sides. The wind will open the doors and cause havoc with the contents on the shelves. I used to put a metal dowel in between the handles to keep them from blowing open. But If I forget to put the brace in, OOPS! Now with the magnet latches, perhaps my forgetfulness won't be a problem any longer.

Installation is pretty standard.
You'll need only a few basic tools:
<> Drill and set of small drill bits
<> Pencil to mark spots
<> Phillips Head Screwdriver

PROS:
<> Magnets are strong
<> Small size - unobtrusive
<> Decorative as far as latches and closers go
<> Plenty of extra screws in package

CONS:
<> Screws are cheap and will strip out easily
<> Double-sided tape won't stick to itself much less anything else - worthless
<> 4 magnet closers came with only 3 pieces of double-sided tape. Good thing I didn't need to use them.

Jamest: These are amazing and a great product. Replaced the white plastic versions on my California shutters that were breaking apart due to the sun exposure. Not only do these look great ( although I wish they showed the letters JQK like it appears In photos) they are exponentially stronger than the cheap white ones the builders first installed. For example we have shutters on patio doors leading to back deck. The cheap white ones weren’t strong enough to hold the shutter door closed and they would always swing open when you closed the patio doors. No way that’s going to happen with these JQK magnets. I’d highly recommend!!

Mark: I had to replace plastic magnetic door catches every couple years for the last 16 years on 5 plantation shutters throughout the house and I simply got fed up with the hassle of replacing inferior quality hardware that literally disintegrated due to weathering and light use wear and tear. Direct sunlight exposure apparently makes a big difference on durability.

I found these stainless steel door catches after some research and started with one "trial" pack. Despite the cost premium, I loved it and ordered 5 more (x4 packs) to install on all remaining shutters. The build quality and aesthetics is top notch. Hopefully l'll never have to replace a door catch again. Highly recommended.
