So what Happened? I wasn’t looking for anyone at the time as I had not long come out of a relationship, but a certain guy kept pursuing me and asking me out on dates. He did seem like a nice guy, so I thought why not I’ll give him a chance. At first things were great, slow (we only saw each other once a week) but at the time it was just what I needed, no commitment and pressure. Also he stated from the start how shy he was with women so I would have to bare with him. He was always the perfect gentleman on dates, offered to pay for things, take me out places, he even took me on a weekend away for valentine’s day. In between seeing him he would text me several times a day, every day and after dates I would always receive a lovely message saying what a good time he had had with me. CrushedBunny: I read this book through Kindle Unlimited with, I confess, very low expectations. I'm not a fan of the whole 'how to get a man/woman' self-help genre as I tend to think it must by its very nature rely on massive over- generalisations about both men and women. After all, we are all first and foremost, individuals with differing needs, value systems, desires, etc...so how can there possibly be a 'one size fits all' that works for everyone?
Well, this book doesn't claim to to that. What it does is cut through all the crap that is peddled in many of these types of books about how you should 'act' (because playing games and acting a part seems to be a feature of many of these) and shows you what is essentially common sense; that if you have a healthy level of self-respect and clearly defined boundaries of the type of behaviour you expect from a potential (or current) partner, you'll never NEED to play games, or put up with, or even stoop to chasing men who don't value you. It's a book for women who don't want just to 'date', it's for women who want to find a high-quality man who will eventually commit to a high-quality, long term relationship but who may unconsciously be making...
