Billy Green: We have owned these scoops for a short time, but have used all 3 in Christmas dinner preparations. Some of them multiple times. they appear to to real stainless steel and have been through the dish washer at least a couple of times each. So far no sign of rust or malfunction. I really like the heavy gauge metal and the way they made a guide for the bottom to slide trough. a very good design, in my opinion, compared to others I looked at on line and in stores. So far I am very HAPPY with my purchase. To be fair they are a little hard to clean just from the dish washer I found a small amount of food stuck in the hinge area. It was easily cleaned by hand, you just have to do a visual inspection to make sure they are clean when unloading. Not the cheapest on Amazon but, in my opinion, better made and worth the few extra dollars spent for, better quality.

Denise Michaud: Received my cookie scoops just after Christmas baking was done so didn't have a chance to use them for cookie making this year. I used the ice cream scoop a few times and its nice and sturdy. Works very well. So far, so good.
