topher: I'm a contractor so I fix a lot of machines, but not so much electronics. Never replaced a battery in a cell phone before. This kit provided everything needed and it only took me ten minutes to replace my old battery. Before I had to recharge my phone every few hours, now I have to recharge every few days. LOL My I-phone 6 works a lot better now too. I have a suggestion for working on the phone. After I lifted the screen off, I taped the back of the phone to my desk with a tape loop and I taped the screen to a backstop at a 90 degree angle. That made it a lot easier to take the adhesive strips out without messing up any connections and without disconnecting the screen.

Mr. Know-it-All: I've done lots of battery refurbishments and have no issues, so I can't speak to the ease. But It's pretty easy if you have opposable thumbs and steady hands. The supplied tool set is adequate but a fixed magnifying glass is also helpful for old eyes. Have been using this battery for about a week now and getting several days use per charge so, initially, I'm happy with it. I usually play games in the morning for a couple hours + regular phone use during the day and burn about 40% of the battery per 24 hrs. I normally recharge to 100% each night. (Yeah, yeah, I know about 20-80% drain-charge recommendations.) The battery this one replaced had over 812 cycles on it before getting flaky, so I can't complain about that. We'll see how this new "better" one holds up in the coming months-years.

CB: My spouse - an Electrical Engineer who has done a LOT of miniature circuits design/repair work - offered to tackle replacing my Iphone 6 battery after Apple quoted $250 instead of their standard $50 fee (because phone had a previous non-Apple battery replacement). He says the tools provided were good-quality and essential for handling the tiny screws and moving other parts. Getting the old battery out was made more difficult by the amount of adhesive on it. He chose to use less adhesive than was provided with the new battery. It took him 3 tries to get the phone properly re-assembled with all connectors fully re-seated and ribbon-cables tucked in place. That $50 standard fee would have been "a bargain".

Battery seems to be working well and it is not getting warm while charging (always a good sign).

After only 1 day, I can't yet rate battery life. And "easy to install" isn't something the battery-maker has control over... the phone design is intended to discourage 3rd-party repairs.

Snowy: I initially fumbled on the battery install due to those pesky screen connections. After the initial install, my screen had some line of junk on the very top. But after un-notching and renotching the screen a couple of times, the phone worked again. The battery install was sometimes tough because of the tape, which I tried to remove w a hairdryer to some success (got most of the tape out) but ultimately had to do tugging and bending of the battery to get it out. Also, I messed up with the screw sequence and installed the wrong longer screw where it shouldn't have been, but eventually aligned them right. The battery install took 75 min for me. First time doing something like this.

David XiedengDavid Xiedeng: I bought this to replace the battery in my mother's old iPhone 6. The battery capacity readout in settings was 51% of when it was new, and would frequently shut down before reaching 0%.

This kit gives all the tools you need: screw bits, spudgers, suction cup. etc. As long as you follow the video guide provided, you should be able to replace it yourself quite easily. Take things slowly and remember where you put the screws and you should be fine. The only thing to be careful about is the adhesive strips, which can stretch if you put them in wrong. If you're clumsy like me, it might be a good idea to buy a pack of the strips separately for extra tries, just in case you messed up, like in one of my pics.

Overall, I'm quite happy with it. The battery originally in the phone was 1810 mAh worn down to 51%, whereas this one is 2700 mAh, so a theoretical 3x increase in battery life. I can't exactly say that's what we saw, but it seems to last quite long, maybe 5-6 hours of use watching YouTube videos.
