fd5: I like that it's compact, has an antenna (some don't, I learned!), am & fm works although a bit scratchy and random. Didn't find an active weather band on this cloudless night, and I can only hope that the Alert does work. (I really prefer not having to find out, as I live in Tornado Alley)
Power: There is a pretty short USB cable, and once plugged in, 4 tiny blue lights lit up to show % charged (25, 50, 75, 100).
Other charging options - handcrank or Solar. No batteries, no AC cord to the wall outlet! So if you need to secure yourself in a basement, bring a power pack & the USB cable that is provided. Or use the handcrank.
It has a VERY bright solar lamp, Very. And there's a 3 strength option, very bright flashlight as well.
There's a little green dot that lights up when your tuning volume is on.
And there's an SOS button. but that did nothing but click when pressed. (No little dot light for this guy!)
Dials: A radio station tuning dial, a volume dial, and a WB (weather band) dial with 7 potential bands to select a winner from. And a dial to select am, fm, WB, and Alert, which remains to be heard.

Donna Holt: I finally found the weather radio I have been needing for years it seems... This Gem is so useful.. has the light and a light bar ..Sound is prefect it it is on the loudest setting.. neighbors could hear it.. oops ..So I have to remember to be mindful of them,,lol the weather alerts has been great ,, clear and very accurate.. Charge seems to last a very long time. I charged it when I got this radio and have yet to have to recharge it..love the little lights on the front ,,it tells you how your battery is doing as for charge. Amazing little radio! and it has so many other things it does.. Get one for your house !
