Gator: I use these mounted on a pole over water so that they focus on an alligator den and are programmed to fire on time lapse. This way I can capture what the gators are doing at various temperatures and document other species that associate with alligator dens.

DBrown: Image quality is good, night vision is good, range is good. Range depends on placement but they will trigger on a raccoon about 50 ft out at night. A deer, even further.

M. RonkM. Ronk: I am somewhat disappointed with the clarity of night time images. They lack the crispness of detail I was hoping for. The picture included was taken about 10 feet from the camera. On another aspect of this purchase, the Focus Reader/Writer is dismal. It virtually fell apart upon inserting the card the first time. I immediately ordered another reader (Uni) which is a high quality alternative. At this point I would have ordered the camera as a stand alone purchase.
