Bryna i.: Bought 2 of these cams jan 2022 and they're dead. Light stays on and wont take photos seriously disappointed for the price

Lisa Reedy: We have no complaints. It's a good camera that is easy to set up, has adequate setting choices, and takes fairly good pictures. Obviously, the camo color is the way to go for blending in. The strap is strong, the hinge still opens smoothly, and the battery life is good. We've had this camera for a few years now, and it's still going strong.

Richard W.: I bought a couple of these cameras over five years ago to record wild life on my rural acreage after reading good reviews about this model in a respected outdoor magazine. They served me well for several years, probably longer than their expected life. It was a no brainer to buy another one to replace the old one.

The new one has more features than the old one - easier set up and image review function. The motion sensor seems more sensitive. So I get more images. Image quality is good. I am not a hunter so I don't need a trail cam with real-time mobile phone capabilities.

I'll buy this model again.

SkipstaSkipsta: I use this cam for videos, not for still photos, so I can't comment on that. But it takes excellent videos, both day and night. Great detail even when zooming in on the recorded videos. The no-glow infrared emitters light up the night scene without spooking animals. Setting it up and using the menu is easy and intuitive. This is my fourth trail cam, and it's my favorite. I use Powerowl 2800mAh rechargeable batteries in my cameras to save on battery costs. ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07M7JHBNC) I learned early on in my trail camera (and dash cam) adventures not to use cheap SD cards. They don't handle many re-writes before they start to fail. I've had good luck with Samsung Pro Endurance cards, but things change. Do your own research.

A couple of issues: The published trigger time of 0.4 seconds is for still photos, and it has a longer trigger time for videos. If you set up the camera where an animal can pass by quickly, you might miss it. Not a problem watching a feeding station or a spot where animals hang out.

Also, the SD card slot is in an awkward place to retrieve the card. Even after using the back of a fingernail to pop it out, it's so close to the...

Allie D.: I got this camera to see who was vandalizing my community garden plot at night when nobody else was there. I had laid out poly cords in a grid to mark off square feet so I could do square foot gardening, and the cords were cut every few days. I kept repairing them, and they kept being cut.

I set it up to take motion-activated video.

First, the MINIMUM delay after the PIR is triggered is five seconds. You can't set it lower than that. I know from repeated experiments that it actually takes SEVEN or EIGHT seconds to start recording.

My plot is 8 feet wide, and the cords in question are on the narrow side, so if somebody comes up and cuts them quickly, they'll be out of frame before it starts recording!

I would go after dark sometimes and walk in front of the camera, and it would record me.

For several days in a row, I would repair the cords then they'd be cut again the next morning, and the camera never recorded anything overnight, unless it was me walking back and forth after dark.

FINALLY I got *one* video - of a coyote pulling on the cords with his mouth. Case solved.

If this damned camera had worked properly I would have had my...

Duane: works as advertised. a little pricey though, and then add in the cost of a SD card and lithium batteries...very sensitive motion activation.
i don't know how "warmth" and "sheerness" have a bearing on the overall rating of this product in the "create review section"....

Sheep Creek: We have 4 of these game cams and all work very well. In use year round, even during cold winter months (BC, Canada).
Easy to set up and customize settings. Be sure to use the correct memory card. I use multiple memory cards. When I switched cards between the camera's there was a problem 'reading the card'. This was solved by marking each camera and the card with a number to avoid mixing them up. I use the 'video' setting instead of 'picture' mode and therefore use a card with the highest capacity (double check in the manual what the max GB for the camera). These game cams are good quality and a lot of fun.

Richard: I bought this camera to supplement older ones which were coming to the end of their working lives monitoring the nocturnal activities of wildlife visitors to my garden. I chose the G42 because I expected it to have more flexibility than its favoured smaller model. A modern, more up to date camera and as an alternative make to the ones I already had. But what a disappointment.

True it had 3 very easy quick monitor settings and a fourth which does have some variable parameters, but not that many. However after a week's use I find that its sensitivity is quite poor in comparison with my previous makes of wildlife camera. The smallest creature detected at night was a dog, whereas the other models were picking up hedgehogs, mice and the occasional cat. One might have expected to find a sensitivity setting, but there does not appear to be one. After 5 days use, just the dog and occasional view of my backside when retreating after positioning the camera were the only captures. In fact, just seven clips - no wonder it's able to boast a long battery life. So it might be OK for wild boar and deer, but not for smaller creatures.

On the hardware side, the SD card is awkward to...
