AdventuresofDougy-YT: So I bought this because I didn’t want to buy a new cord just to have in my car.
I have an aftermarket radio in my car (installed myself)
It has android auto and car play.
However my android (at the time) used Type C to type C charging.
The usb jacks on the radio were regular usb (like the ones found on desktop computers)
With that being said, I didn’t want to buy a new cable just because of that.
So instead, I bought this adapter.
It works for android auto. Confirmed.
About 6 months later I bought a Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max.
And again, uses type C but to lightning cable. (Thanks Apple)
So ultimately, this saved me from needing to buy two cables.
It works with Android Auto AND Apple Car Play.
However, I’m not sure how I managed to do this, but one of these “bent”
So the casing around the usb plug looks like it’s going to pop off…but hey it still works!
Ultimately, for the price, I can’t complain what so ever. Its stable, It fits where it needs to fit. It’s size is not too big, nor too small.

Jaden w.: The product sports the speeds which are advertised, but the USB-C IN port is not reversible. This means that even though you can unplug and rotate your cable 180 degrees to plug it back in, your speeds will not be the same. Many people have left bad reviews because the plugged it in wrong and got bad speeds. This also may affect your device, as I am trying to use it for an HP Reverb G2, and it is not functioning properly. I am buying a different reversible adapter and if that works I will note it here.

Edit, new adapter did not work either, for best compatibility use a pcie expansion.

Damien Dube: This is an early review so I have absolutely no idea of how long these will work, but they come in pack of 2 so if the first one ever stops working, I'll just switch to the other one. I needed one of these adapters because I recently bought a webcam and didn't realize at the time that the only plug that came with this things is a USB-C. My PC is from around 2013 - 2014 so USB-C is a big "no" and I attempted to buy these "cheap" adapters because it was indeed cheaper than buying an actual PCIe USB card (also, I'm running kind of short on PCIe slots in there too) but by the time I am writing this I am also realizing that there were also cheaper USB cards (around $30), though not as cheap as these. I was unsure if I was throwing my money in the stove when I was reading reviews about this kind of adapters, many people reporting them to be... well... cheaply made and also unsuitable for anything else than phone charging / data transfer. Well, it turns out I was pleased to hear the usual "Windows has detected a new device" sound when I plugged my webcam, and a few seconds later, it was ready to use! Nothing else to comment for now, I'm just a happy customer!

DanFromHali: USB-C is the new standard in USB. They are used to transfer larger amounts of data, with more power, than previous generations of USB connection. Because of this, many newer devices are coming with USB-C wiring instead of the older USB 3.0. But because it is a new standard, it means that your current hardware might not actually have a slot for a USB-C connection... Which is where an adapter comes in handy.

The problem with third party adapters is always going to be, that they are a 50/50 chance of actually working, or not having a drop in quality when they do work. I got one of the more expensive ones I could find on the first page of Amazon, simply because, when it comes to tech, I truly believe that you get what you pay for. There are others that are much cheaper, but when you see how cheap it is, alarms should start sounding, and red flags start waving in the air.

I paid, so I paid $16.99 for this... so it really isn't even that expensive. Just a little more than the competition, and it even looked like it was of higher quality, from the pictures. Even so, I was cautiously optimistic when the order was delivered.

Sure enough, it works like a charm. Now,...
