Amuyaa: Really like the light on this nail grinder. Also like the mode that allows you to hold down the button to power on and release to stop; it's a nice safety feature I feel. It's not too noisy, and just powerful enough to file down nails at a good safe pace.

Amazon Customer: Was not good for my two Great Danes nails. Brought this as my dogs hate nail clippers. Unfortunately this was not strong enough. Better for small dogs or cats.

OptimusTattoo: This was a really great purchase! I had one of the older nail sanders that used C batteries and the sandpaper part kept falling out when I used it. We never had good batteries when we needed them. So I bought this and it is SO easy charging this up and using it. It's still on the first charge too, It's lasted since the first day and I've used it at least 4 times a week. Since I first purchased it. The light is very helpful and the sanding bit hasn't lost a bit of it's.... sandiness? It still works great, anyway.

Kelley: I adopted a traumatized rescue dog that was terrified of having his nails clipped. For the past year and a half, the vet has had to completely knock him out every month and a half to trim them. I, nor the vet ever considered a grinder because the sound is somewhat jarring and we assumed he would be more afraid of that than clippers, if that was even possible. When I was informed the general anesthetic would begin to damage his kidneys, I took a leap of faith and purchased this nail grinder. Voila! He actually likes it! He even gets excited when I show it to him, he gives me his paws without hesitation and it works great. I wish I would have tried it when I first adopted him, it would have saved so much time, money and additional trauma!

MikeMike: This has adequate power. I can see as my dog grows i'll probably just spend the money to get a real battery powered dremel but since I only paid $11 for this thing if it breaks tomorrow... whatever. It grinds albeit slowly.
The worst part is I'm a right handed person. out of the box this thing rotated clockwise (when looking directly at the head). So when I hold it like a pen it grinds downward and the head skips and chatters on my dogs nails which freaked her out. I had to reverse the polarity to make it rotate counter clockwise so it grinds smoothly. (See picture). Super simple to do, not much to it, 4 screws and pry it apart. If you've never even held a soldering iron you are still capable of easily swapping these cables to make it rotate opposite direction.
If you're left handed this would be just fine for you. However my guess is quality control probably doesn't care enough to get polarity right since there were no markings on it indicating + or - so I would assume they don't all rotate the same way out of the box. Just something to be aware of.

Amazon Customer: I'm currently getting my dog used to the device. He isn't bothered by the noise level or the device itself so far. We haven't tried the nails yet. But when I do I'll update my review.
***Upadte - So while he was fine with the noise level he still didn't love it touching his paws/nails. So I had to enlist the help of a second pair of hands to keep him calm. Once I started on his nails and he realized it wasn't going to hurt him, he settled down and just laid there while I got through each nail. I have a Great Dane about 200lbs. His nails are like raptor talons when they get too long. I would have loved to just be able to clip his nails but I didn't do enough when he was a pup to make that an option now. This nail trimmer was the perfect find!
