AmazonAddict: Pros
1. I've owned this skillet for nearly 5 years now! I've used it daily for cooking bacon, eggs, French toast, lasagna, stake, pretty much anything a frying pan can cook and more.
2. The non-stick surface shows no signs of wear. See how to clean and not to clean it below.
3. It's as large as a flat skillet but has the extra benefit of raised edges for containing splatter from cooking food.
4. It's large and doesn't take up any of my stovetop because it has its own heat source.
5. It has a built-in electric heating element that will not overheat the non-stick surface. Non-stick cannot exceed 500 degrees or it will burn and peel off.
6. It cooks pretty evenly from the bottom. Not as even as a convection or gas stove and skillet, but evenly enough to get good results.

Cons
1. It can be used to cook casseroles but will require frequent stirring because the sides and top are not heated.
2. It is difficult to clean the legs and power adapter. There are lots of edges, groves and hollow spaces to navigate when cleaning the legs.
3. The power cord is short and the skillet draws 15 amps of power! You'll need to pay a lot to buy a 20 amp extension cord....

Dana Croy: My sister has used this for years. When we embarked on a kitchen remodel, I bit the bullet and bought one. It is now nearly a year later and I am still using it. The remodel is finished but I still pull this out once a week to make chicken, or sausage and veggies, pancakes...it is never ending. Is it perfect on the heat distribution? No. But, it is pretty good. I never cook above 200 or it gets too hot. But, overall I love it and will use it as long as possible.

Nancy: I'm generally pretty pleased with most Presto products. I'd love to see this one designed somehow with a heating coil through the center for more even heating but this heats as well if not better than other appliances I've had. I don't have a stove and haven't for at least 10-12 years so as you can imagine I've gone through a lot of electric skillets in that time. Biggest obstacle with this one is there are no grippers on the bottom to keep it from sliding on the flat surface of a counter top. The counter I use for food prep is very narrow with barely enough room for the skillet so I put a towel under it to keep it from sliding off the counter. Other than that I am well pleased with it.

judy: I ordered this to replace an old fryer.. It is large enough to any amount of food. I put a steak in it for Swiss Steak. It held potatoes, carrots, celery and onions for my recipe. I even put 2 cans of beef broth with water. I had a hard time trying to put it on simmer. I put it between warm and 250 and it still cooked too fast. I added more water and seasoning to it, knowing it would cook down...The lid is fine. I just wished it had NOT boiled too fast....My dinner was delicious even though it cooked fast...It's easy to wash out with no sticking of food. I like , regardless of the temp gauge and will continue to cook other recipes in it..
