Enjoy the delicious flavor of this classic favorite today! Robert d.: Eh. I'm not big on the large, think noodles. And NOT a fan on the cubed chicken. The chicken brings a low quality feel to this recipe. And there is NOT enough chicken in each can.
I have purchased a bag of breasts to boil, pull apart, and add to the pot. Then I literally chop all the dumplings into smaller bits.
THEN I actually like these. I bought a case of 12 giant cans

PDC: I have used this product in the past. My kids like it for lunch from time to time. So I ordered a number of cans and the first cans opened were missing dumplings ( all cans were actually missing them). I called the company and asked for a refund as this was a quality control issue. They wouldn't do that. They said they would send me a coupon for money off on my next purchase. They said that I would have to call customer service for each can ... not worth the time . To complete the picture, my store doesn't carry their product and the coupons can't be used on line as they require store signature. End game. So, tried Dinty Moore. It's different, richer and less a soup than Sweet Sue. We like it better and it s less expensive. If you like a dumpling soup, Progresso makes a good one my kids also like.

C Jones: Because of covid-19 , I bought a case of 12 cans of this. Where I live I can't get lots of chicken from our local supermarkets, I have tried for a year. They seem to always be out of chicken. I remembered as a kid that we often were served Sweet Sue's in the summer, probably to give Mom a break. However this was not in any way the same thing I remember from years ago. The taste is good and the broth is great. However instead of the nice shredded chunks of chicken, which to be honest sometimes had a bone, I got a can of about 1/4 cup to 1/3 cup of diced chicken similar to Campbell's soups...bleh. And the can was at least half full of I guess dumplings. But they were all clumped together and equaled approximately one and almost two handfuls of boiled dough. I have tried 3 cans now. All have been the same. I would honestly call this dumplings with broth. And one last note, the nutrition info says one can is 3 servings. Tastes good, but high carbs.

S: I was very concerned about ordering this after reading the other reviewers' disappointing experiences, but I'm glad I did! It was delicious and still a thousand times better than Swanson's or Dinty Moore's dumplings.
I used to eat these in the 1990s and Sweet Sue was always my favorite kind. The current recipe does seem slightly different from my recollection, but the same flavor was still there. Here are the changes I noticed:
- Chicken pieces are smaller (and fewer) than they used to be. Having said that, they actually taste great. When I first saw the little rectangular chicken chunks, my heart sank, but once I tasted them I was relieved to see that they were tender and good. I'd guess that the total volume of chicken was about 75% of what it used to be, but because the pieces are smaller it was still easier to get chicken into more bites.
- The dumplings themselves seemed a little smaller and a little softer than I remembered. I'm not sure if this makes them better or worse, but it just was a little different from what I was expecting.
All in all, I will probably continue to order these from time to time so I can keep them on hand.

Jimmy D. Banks: Very poor packaging. Box was too big so all the cans tumbled around. No can appears to have opened but I'll watch them.
