Carl Barnett | NOURISH | Gallery | LifestyleCarl Barnett | NOURISH | Gallery | Lifestyle: This book is inspiring regardless of one's personal style. In the introduction, editor Carl Dellatore writes, " We all inhabit dwellings of some kind; the more thoughtful the attention we exert upon them, the more our infrastructure - our whole built world - is beautified." This sums up the book's intent - thoughtful beauty and its effect on our living. What collecting and creating can do.

Marti: The product arrived on time and perfect conditions, but I do not suggest this book. In my opinion the pictures are uninspiring (to me it looks like a dated design, very far from my taste, anyway ) , while the text is pretty boring and do not provide practical suggestions/tips/inspiration. I am surprised this book has so many positive reviews.

Notsaying: I love everything interior design because I want to learn about it. This book is not a particular how-to book (as in how to decorate in Shabby chic, French formal, or Tuscany, etc.); rather it is divided into essays by different designers who each tackle a concept in design. It is really helpful to give a name to a vague feeling I've been dissatisfied about in my design or to understand why I really did something well, or to understand how I could improve a space.
Highly, highly recommend.

D. Arteaga: The book presents insteresting views on different design topics, but as short essays from different designers, so if you expect something different, this book is not going to provide it.

MaggieS: This book was a spontaneous grab at the library recently, but I ended up rereading it so many times that I purchased my own copy. The layout was so accessible--really stunning photos accompanied by a page or two of text from a master designer--so it was easy to enjoy a bit at a time. Despite not being myself one of the well-heeled homeowners featured in the book, I still found the layouts and descriptions inspiring, and could use them to guide my efforts in my own more modest home. I think the best part of this book was the instant joy I felt as I turned certain pages...I learned a lot about what I instinctively like and don't like, and it made me happy just reading about the thought and feeling behind the rooms featured. Unlike some other design books I've read which are more explicitly instructional, this is one to linger over and absorb from slowly. Highly recommended!

meeski: This is a big whopper of a book. Very elegant and detailed. Incredibly useful information and descriptions on how and why some designers come up with their ideas.

Patrick: Exquisite! This book is just beautiful and the scope of the project is amazing. The photos are gorgeous, and a wonderful representation of each of the 100 designers essays on their respective subject on design. The editor and creator of the project, Mr. Dellatore has years of experience and has carefully selected the most prestigious group of American interior designers.
What I enjoyed most, is that the book is approachable and understandable, even for someone who is not as well versed in design, but very interested in a designers process. It's also a fun journey through the world of design. This book is a must for any coffee table, and also makes a great gift!
You won't be disappointed.

Gabriel Rangel: I know it was pre-owned but it didn't have original book cover. Book had rips on section where book closes.
