Leanne Havelock: I bought this to rig up a few lamps in my house but ended up using them for Christmas lights. I’ll probably order more. Easy to use. One thing that concerned me was how in the packaging fine print it says that you should wash your hands after handling them because it contains cancer causing substances. Not sure what substance but thought that was strange.

E: Me gusto cumple su función de prender y apagar luces así que lo programo para noche y se apaga luz sola.
Si eres sensible al ruido ten en cuenta que suena el funcionamiento como una ligera lluvia. Para mi ok.

BonWil: Easy enough to set up and works fine so far. I hope that since it is mechanical, it will last longer than electronic models that use a chip since those tend to be problematic.

Taking 1.5 stars off for physical design drawbacks (had to round down 2 stars for the rating):
1. Bulky design - much thicker than I expected. I have it installed behind a cabinet which now has to have a 2" gap between the back edge and the wall since the combination of the timer and the plug sticking out take up so much depth.
2. A bit noisy - makes a constant grinding/humming sound. Since it is placed in a foyer, it's not a big deal. But I wanted to use one in my bedroom and decided against it since I can hear that sound and it is a little annoying - if you are sensitive to sounds.

Eric Schurley: I bought these because we were going away for 10 days on a vacation and needed spontaneous lighting throughout the time we were away. I bought the digital ones which I was very impressed with but needed a few more. I didn't want to pay the price for digital so I went cheap with the analog ones. They are easy to operate and I didn't read the instructions but for those who are not familiar with these timers, instructions are available. The noise is non-existent and they worked just as expected (I have cameras in the house to check while I'm gone). Some reviewers complained about the noise but it must be dead silent in their house to hear these because I didn't hear them even when I was sleeping and the outlet is about 3 or 4 feet from my bed. I would give it 4 stars but the digital are so much easier to use and faster. These do the job and for the budget conscious family, they are great. Overall, satisfied and I recommend.

Jason ruddock: Sometimes a simple solution works best. I've tried using X10 and Insteon timers and switches but they aren't always 100% reliable. I got tired of my holiday lighting not turning on or off when they are supposed to so I picked up a few of these. Problem solved. Programming and setup is about as simple as it gets (if you can't figure it out then perhaps electricity is not for you) and they work fine. I do not hear any clock motor grinding unless I put my ear right up to it. I am not sure how accurate the clock is but it works good enough for me during the 1-2 months I plan on using it each year. For the power conscious, I measured this using a Kill-A-Watt device and found that the clock motor draws less than 1 watt when running with the switch off (obviously when the switch is on the power draw depends on what you have plugged into it.) It does have only a 2-prong plug. I guess it was really designed for lamps and lights and simple appliances, certainly not air conditioners or heaters or anything serious. The timers do feel a little cheap and light, but I haven't had any issues with them and what do you expect for around $5 each?

A Mazon Customer: I've had these for over a year and they are going strong. Pins down = light on, pins up = light off, enough pins for a 24 hour period. I love the analog nature of the timer; no need to deal with a digital screen or buttons, remembering how to reset the timer, etc. The pins are easy to use once you figure them out. I was a little confused when I first received the timers, as I was unable to "push down" the pins on the timer. It took me a couple of minutes to realize the timers arrived with all pins pushed down, I had to pull them all "up" in order to push the few down I wanted for the timer "switch on" periods. The people complaining about not being able to move the pins might have encountered the same problem! Also the pins are small, if you have limited dexterity you might need to use a toothpick or miniature screwdriver to move the individual pins up and down. My one lazy negative is that the pin schedule looses its sync with the clock face if you unplug the timer from the outlet. The correction is easy, twist the clock face around to align the pins with the clock. It only takes 15 seconds but if you had the on/off pin intervals perfectly scheduled on...
