He has been waiting for this gift for 2 months and has been asking for it every day. On Christmas Day I got him the guitar, but the guitar amp (yellow plastic box) just didn't work. I tried plugging different batteries into it, went out and bought a power adapter, tried different wires - nothing works. This is very low quality. This product is quite expensive to be of such low quality.

Ms. Taylor: The looks and quality are great. The only thing I didn't like was that there is a cord that is required for the amp but is not included. That kinda sucked this Christmas morning. I purchased for 8 yr old son and it was the perfect size for him. It also comes with coupon for a free online lesson.

Mrgrita:
My husband plays guitar, so I had an expert check this out before I gave it to my grandson. The action was good and the frets secure - no rough edges or anything. The amp was perfect - has just enough sound, but it can't go too loud. I bought the blue - very nicely painted - and my grandson was thrilled! He immediately put the strap over his head and started rocking out. I wasn't sure how heavy that 5 lbs was going to feel to him, but he played for almost an hour straight, so I guess he didn't really notice. And he's been playing almost daily since.
The strap was a bit flimsy, so I did end up buying a more padded style, along with a floor stand, but otherwise, this is a perfect first guitar for a kid.

Perfect for kidsPerfect for kids: This is definitely a child’s product and this is what I purchased it for. My 4 year son got this for his birthday. He is in love! He feels like a real rock star. Happy with the price because with a 4 year old they don’t exactly take care of things. I don’t have to worry or hover over him stressed that he will break it. Size of guitar fits him perfectly, not too heavy and he can hold it himself. The small amp is nice for him and not too loud. We do have another large amp (not a toy) that we plug the guitar into when he really wants to jam out. I would purchase again.

Janell Boranian:
Bought this for my 3 year old because he is my musical savant in the making. He LOVES it and tried to sleep with it the first night.
The guitar seems well manufactured and although it is a little large now, my son has room to grow into the instrument which we like.
The amp is sort of low quality but also to be expected for the price.
Overall great buy and everyone is happy!

Timerius: I get now why they call it a beginner kit and not a beginner guitar. Clever, well played. This is not a beginner guitar. A beginner is just learning strings/frets/finger positions, but instead are tasked with intonation, nut/tuner replacement. The essential components that make a guitar appealing to beginners so they might want to practice instead of seeing it as a chore, just aren't there. If there's any hope at making it playable, everything's gota go. Pickup and pot, those are staying for now because they at least function. Tuners...if someone were to tell me they were 5:1 gear ratio I'd believe it. Bridge...if they told me they were plastic with chrome spray paint, makes sense. Intonation...Intona who? Knowing it's likely a beginner who's playing it, at least get the saddles within range. 6th Open E=12th fret F, 5th Open A = 12th fret B on and on down. But if it's any comfort at least that was consistent for all 6. So with another $50 invested I can get it to the point where it's ready for a beginner to begin.
