GC21: Good little freezer for areas where space is at a premium.

The door and build quality feels decently good.

There's a fair amount of space inside for frozen stuff.

The only minor complaint that I have is that frost does develop inside the walls but it isn't a large amount.

steveh721: Over 3 1/2 years ago, at the start of the pandemic, everyone, apparently, had the same idea than I did, but earlier. By the time it occurred to me it would be a good idea to buy a freezer, they were all sold out and few would deliver.

I had not heard of the Whynter brand, but that's all that was available, even on Amazon. The specs seemed good and reviews were okay, so I bought two.

As it turns out, this is a really good product! And it's worked without issue for over 3 1/2 years. And it's well insulated, too, as we lost grid power a few times for up to 3 days (live in snow region, and lines break every so often). Those freezers kept our frozen food solidly frozen for 3 days without power--not unusual for a chest freezer, but it is unusual for an upright.

A: The freezer I ordered came in faulty. It happens! It wouldn't cool below 45 degrees. So I messaged Whynter support. Jose with Whynter helped me out and had a replacement sent to me. I'm very pleased. Thank you!

bonana: took me a month to decide to order this little 1.1cu.ft at such a lowered price, fearful of what shape it would be in. there was no description of why it was just 'acceptable' - the lowest sellable warehouse ranking. I imagined big dents, scapes, holes, messed-up wiring.
what I received - packed like it had never been opened. keys, scraper and mini ice cube tray included. no dents or blemishes. the door opens left-to right and the freezer sat level right off the bat so didn't have to mess with any of tools (thankfully!) I let it sit upright unplugged for 14 hrs, then plugged it in - surprisingly made no sound at all. put in the included little ice tray to test, it froze quickly. now 2 weeks later, it is filled with 'expendable' stuff for now and continues to work fine - freezing hard set at 3.
it is only about 8" deep (the motor takes up the inside room at the back) but it's nearly 18" high and wide - enough space to give needed relief to the overjammed cross-top freezer on my refrigerator.
the only issue I have come across - the door catches on the lock receptacle that sticks out on the center bottom when I close it even tho the freezer is level - maybe that is why it...

Franchesca N.: I bought this because I needed something for longer camping trips and can't afford a dedicated camping freezer/fridge. I really like it. It's big enough to be useful but it's not so big that it won't fit in my car, Nissan Altima, with all the rest of my gear, with a roof box, for a week and a half with a kid still in a carseat. I would honestly recommend buying something like this, even if you don't want this particular one, instead of just for camping because it's been awesome for overflow in the house. No real issues with frost. I have had it for a while now and it's been fantastic. It even has a lock on it so you can chain it to a tree and lock it up or you can put stuff in it you don't want people messing with in it. Like medicine type things. I'm not sure what meds can go in a freezer but you can't open it without the key if you lock it. I recommend it. I did buy a drip pan to put under it but there's been no drippings.

Yaxaira: I live in a small place and fits perfect enough to keep it inside a cabinet.
It's super cold, freezes all type of food: shrimp, fish, meat, chicken, beverages, etcetera.
I would recommend it always.

Bridget Ubochi: I am using this freezer to store my garden grown vegetables. It does not have enough room or maybe I need a taller freezer! Anyway I like the fact that I can lift and move it around.

ChristinaY: It is very small but sufficient for my purpose (until the stay-home order started !!). I place it on top of my Danby mini fridge and the pair looks very neat, since both have the stainless steel look. The only downside is that it frosts over within a week. I defrosted it. It frosted up again. So I just leave it as is, frost and all.

Lynn B: Husband is a long haul truck driver and eating healthy is always a concern, with the Whynter Freezer he is able to purchase frozen veggies, fruit and meat, with less stops to purchase food. Work great.
