w1_m2w1_m2: This item arrived in a box that was in perfect condition. There were plastic straps holding the box together. When the straps were removed, the box itself lifts up to expose the unit. Very easy.
There was packaging material underneath the unit in order to secure the unit during shipping. This material simply needs to be discarded. There was a plastic piece that looks like it belongs to the unit, but that piece was simply being used as support during shipping.
And yes the instructions suck.
The water hose on the unit simply screws-on to the back of the washer. This company has devised a fairly clever way to attach the water input-end to practically any water spout. I have a long flexible hose in my shower. I remove the showerhead and this item, finagled properly, fit on, with no leaks and no problems. It did take a while to figure out how to do it, but I think that is because there are so many different ways to do it and a lot of different pieces to be sure that it will fit on just about any spicket. Also it’s easily removable from my shower hose and I can just put my showerhead right back on!

ChiquitaChiquita: I am updating my review for this washing machine, and now I give it all 5-Stars!! It works great!
I purchased a ""Y" Mixer Hose hose connector (as you can see in the photo) for my cold & hot water faucets.....and after I bought a 4-foot hose with 2 female ends, the washing machine works fine. (I have that 4-foot hose connected to the "Y" Mixer hose, and also to the back of the water inlet joint on the washing machine.)
Of special note: for the water inlet to the washing machine, itself, I had to put the little rubber washer that came with the hose of the washing machine, inside and on top of the larger washer.....of one of the ends of the 4-foot washing machine hose. This section of that 4-foot hose is the one that screws to the washing machine water inlet. (You can see that I have Plumber's Tape wrapped around the threaded pipe inlet joint.)
And this part of the washing machine hose that screws into the water inlet joint in the back of the washing machine has the 2 washers---one on top of the other...(on the bottom, is the larger washer that came with the 4-foot hose...and on top of that washer, I put the little washer that came...
