Amazon Customer: From the build quality perspective, this appliance is great - neatly made, looks sturdy, has everything you need for everyday cooking. The only problem is that I cannot use it! And I can only blame myself as I made a terrible mistake ordering this one from the Amazon US for my brand new Vitamix 2500i ASCENT purchased from Amazon DE in Europe (I’m in EU). When I unboxed and installed the appliance on my Vitamix/EU, it nicely fitted in place but refused to work; it looked like the motor base does not recognise the appliance. I changed to the blending bowl which was delivered as a unit with my Vitamix/EU and it worked perfectly, but this Food Processor Attachment did not. It turns out the Amazon page contained the information that the appliance is compatible only with the Vitamix-es purchased in US/CA only, but unfortunately I missed it. And that was my mistake. When they said it is compatible only with the devices manufactured for US/CA only, they meant it - it does not work on the device manufactured for Europe. Alas, I could not find the food processor attachment in Amazon DE store so I was so happy (and naive) to order it from US. As I learned later from the Vitamix FAQ, they...

Sam M: Pros:
- Great blending power using the Vitamix motor
- Hard plastic feels very strong and durable
- Saves space rather than having a whole separate food processor plus the Vitamix
- Fairly easy to clean compared to my previous food processor, especially if you run soapy water in it before washing. Design is well thought out, no small cracks where food can get trapped.
- Large capacity

Cons:
- One speed only, the variable speed adjustment on the Vitamix does not work while this is attached. Not a huge deal as the one speed will work for almost everything, but would have been nice to have the flexibility.
- A bit expensive for having no real bells or whistles here.

Fraser P.: The media could not be loaded.  Normally I do not post a review until I have thoroughly used something and given it time to be tested. I used my Vitamix Food Processor bowl for the first time today and am so alarmed at the outcome, I am posting this right away to warn everyone of a MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE!

Love my Vitamix blender attachment. Have used it extensively in the year that I’ve owned it. With that positive experience, it was a no brainer for me to buy the Vitamix food processor bowl to replace my 25 yr old Kitchen Aid Food Processor. The KA’s motor still works fine but the bowl broke and I can’t replace as it’s out of production.

The KA bowl locks and stays firmly in place on the motor/drive unit. I was expecting the same standard (secure placement on motor) out of the Vitamix. NOT SO!!

This unit is just placed on top of the motor without any locking mechanism to hold in place. Of course, the Vitamix blender unit sits the same way (without a lock) and it has no issues with staying in place, so when I first saw the set up for the food processor bowl, I figured perhaps the Vitamix engineers had figured out how to make that system work for a...

Like: blender can work largely as expected and is a nice addition to your Vitamix.

Fyi, the description states that this product only works with the US version. I'd recommend them increasing the size of this or creating a warning before the order can be submitted.

J. Parent: This food processor is very powerful and works really well. However, unless you have all the lid pieces in place, you can't turn it on, including needing to have the food chute in place even if you just want to blend what's already in the bowl. Additionally, you can't seem to control the speed, it only has 1 speed setting from what I've been able to see, and I wish it was able to use the different speeds available to the vitamix, it's strange that it doesn't. The storage solution to keep it all in 1 is somewhat clever, but at the same time kind of feels lazy that the top slides upside down inside but doesn't hold steady during storage.

Overall a good product, with some fairly minor annoyances.
