Amazon Customer: It does everything you would need it to do. The only food processor I know that can peel potatoes. It is super easy to clean. Very well built and excellent customer service. Even though it’s more expensive than other food processors it is well worth its value.

KW: Bought this to replace my 11 cup Cuisinart that after 12 years quit. I looked at replacing with another Cuisinart but after reading they are plastic now and not like my heavy old machine I went looking for something else. I use my food processor almost every day and I didn't want some lightweight thing that would travel across the counter when I was using it. I read the reviews on this one and decided to try it. It's a very big machine that takes up some room! But it's so much easier to use, it takes 1/2 the time to chop than it took my old Cuisinart and it's designed different so no more leaking from the middle like the Cuisinart did if you got it to full. It's so much easier to clean as well. If you use one a lot this is a great product.

Peter: I use the large processing blade and mini-chopping blade the most. I am not a fan of the french fries blade and have no use, so far, for the dough blade and whisk disk. Still going strong after a number of years.

Teresa Rydberg: I decided to spend the extra to get a top quality food processor that does more than just chop. This appliance did not disappoint. First try of it I made my own Peanut Butter in under 10 minutes. Just a reminder to anyone, the blades are extremely sharp, which is great, but please be careful when cleaning. I have already cut myself. I marked the ease of cleaning down a bit because there a few grooves on the blade posts that take a little bit of effort to get in an clean so if you want it immaculate every time it will take a tiny bit of extra effort to get those parts clean. Otherwise I fully recommend it, it's a beautiful machine for any home cook to have. The machine is solid and there is no risk of it moving on the counter.

James Brown: We have functioned efficiently in the kitchen without a food processor for decades. My wife and I are fairly accomplished home chef's and make a wide range of foods, so a food processor has always been seen as more of a potential storage problem than a great help. I now admit that I was wrong. The addition of the food processor has opened up the possibility of many more foods, and certainly cut down on preparation time. Now everything from pizza dough to biscotti to humus is an easy process. The trick is not to put the machine away, but find a surface in your kitchen in which is it always available. As a result of doing this, we use our everyday.

Now, why this Breville? It's powerful (really powerful), and their designers gave it a lot of thought. Wide feed tube (with a safety that requires it to be in place before the blade will turn, but with a smaller integrated feed tube that allows for liquids to be poured in while it's running. The adjustable blade allows for great flexibility in cutting (we actually made our own potato chips), a smaller integrated internal bowl for smaller jobs (shallots and garlic), a whisking blade (for whip cream, or as we've done even your own...

Angela_GAngela_G: This thing is incredible.

Comparison to others: This is actually the third food processor I have owned. The first 2 were “the other major brand” and they were ok. Not too bad. The second one was getting to the point where the bowl started needing to be replaced so I thought I'd explore other options. To give you some idea, I had probably used the previous one I had maybe every other week on average. It did ok but with some things the motor would not be too peppy (it would drag). It was a 14 cup I believe.

I saw this one and was thinking about it for a while. I've got a Breville microwave that I love, and a Breville espresso maker that is also pretty excellent. This one seemed to have more features even though it was a bit more money, I cook a lot so I thought what the heck.

I LOVE IT!!! It is so much more versatile with the different blades (and I haven't even used the variable slicer yet!) and it is build so solid. This thing just chews through cheese like nothing. I've had it now a month and a half and have used it 4 times more frequently than I used the “the other major brand”. Ok I confess the reason is probably the french fry cutter which does a...

M K Meep: Got this 16 cup food processor about a week ago. So far I have mixed dark fruit cake, sliced and diced several kilos of veggies for coleslaw and soups, made frozen desserts and used the mini bowl and small s-blade to make sauces.

At first I was reluctant to get this model because I am used to two speed machines. This machine only has one speed (super fast) but I have still been able to do traditional slow mode tasks using the pulse button. In the new year I'll get around to making breads and doughs. I do not have a stand mixer so I hope the blades do not significantly heat up the dough. I'll update this review on cookie, pizza and bread dough preformance soon.

While it's still too early to comment on the longevity of the machine it seems to be quite robust. I really appreciate the metal gearing at the bottom of the work bowl and the base is both sturdy and well designed with places to grab when moving it. Unlike some other machines I tried, it doesn't leak and better still you can remove the rubber sealing gasket to clean it properly. I only hand wash this appliance and compared to many food processors this is very easy to do. The storage caddy for the shredding,...

Carina Kwok: I am thrilled with this machine. After doing quite a bit of research, I decided that this machine was the one I wanted, despite the price and despite the cleaning quirks. I am so glad I purchased it!

CLEANING: As other reviewers have mentioned, it does have its quirks when it comes to cleaning. However, I don't mind hand-washing it and all of the blades are allowed in the dishwasher so I'm not risking fingers to clean them (they are extremely sharp!). I love that the blades and spindles sit on a knob inside of the bowl, instead of on the machine's base (my last machine had this gap and liquid always got down between the spindle and bowl, making a big mess). It makes it super easy to lift the blade out when emptying the bowl without spilling, although blades sit so securely you don't even need to remove them when pouring.

WEIGHT: I do a lot of heavy duty grating and chopping, so I appreciate the solid base. I haven't had it slide on me yet, even when grating Parmesan. I do store my unit on the counter (it's very tall so it barely fits under the cabinets) and pull it forward when I want to use it.

FUNCTIONALITY: As mentioned, the blades are very sharp so you...

C. Stroup: I LOVE this food processor. I use it at least one to two times a day. It has tackled every task that I throw at it. Recently, I used the emulsifying disk to make both mayonnaise and whipped cream. The consistency of both was the best I've ever seen. Previously, I had made mayonnaise in my blender, but the Breville whipped the mayo to that light, airy consistency that we love to see, much better than my blender. I have used my KitchenAid mixer to make whipped cream in the past, but again, the Breville whipped it to a lighter, more fluffy and more stable consistency than my KitchenAid mixer did.

The storage box is great. I like how they put the items that you use most often in the front of the box. I have my box stored in the cabinet below the food processor, so it is easy to reach in there and pull out just what I need without much hunting. But what I love the most about the storage box is that I don't have a bunch of attachments sitting out on the counter or piled into the food processor, as I have had previously with other processors. The only parts of the processor that sit out on the counter are the base, the small bowl stacked inside the big bowl, the lid and the pusher...
