Patricia Slevc: Works well for a few weeks before it begins to break. The crushing blades are sharp, but the teeth that hold the ice while it is crushed are weak and break! If you only use it occasionally, like once a year it would last, but doesn't holdup in regular usage. This is the second one I have had, thought the first one might have been defective, but i guess the defective thing is the design or the materials used.

Nanvan: This item is small and crushes about 1.5 to two cups of ice per filling. The canister holds approximately 42 oz of crushes ice. This is a crank model as stated. The appliance affixes to the counter with a suction cup for stability. After several uses the suction cup only works if you dampen the counter with water. You fill the top reservoir that houses the blades and crank with about 1 cup to 1.5 cups uncrushed ice cubes. Then you begin turning the crank. (similar to roll up car windows.) The top crushes component merely sits atop the bottom resevoir and does not attach to it. This makes cranking more difficult because the top lifts off and slides around from the force of the cranking. Some strength is needed to crank it. The crushed ice is not uniform or fine like a snow cone but still small enough chunks. I was unprepared for the degree of cranking difficulty, need to balance top on bottom and small sized cube receptical. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes to fill 2. 32oz glasses with crushes ice. All in all it is a good value for the money and I use it every day. I let it air dry in my sink drying rack. I've only had it a couple of weeks and already the suction bottom isn't working...

S Bower: We bought the Victorio ice crusher last summer and my wife uses it a few times a day, every day (she is always walking around with a large cup of crushed ice). We didn’t want to deal with an electric grinder and after reading reviews decided on this one. It is well made, small, simple, and easy to use and clean. You can get crushers that cost less (but are cheap/missing features/difficult to use) or cost more (but are harder to keep clean/take up far more room/are more complex and have more things that can go wrong). This one is in the middle price-wise but has some nice features and a great warranty.
A couple things to keep in mind from comments I’ve read in other reviews:
1. Don’t buy it if you are going to complain that it is hard to turn. You are driving metal blades through ice and it isn’t electric. My kids and wife both use it without any issues. Sometimes you may find it easier to reverse the direction to rearrange the cubes and then crank thru it again.
2. Yes it’s kind of loud. You are crushing ice in a small container that is not surrounded by masses of sound deadening materials. No crusher like this will be any quieter.
3. I have no idea what...

capthauq: Considering the price of this model compared to the other options, this is the best bang for the buck.
Pros:
- Crushes a deceptively large amount of ice (1.5 to 2 standard trays)
- Fairly reliable (it's been months since purchase)
- Easy to use
- Gives someone a way to help out (making cocktails w/ someone, having a kid help out, etc)
Tips/Cons (covered by other reviews)
- Can feel cheap - the first time I used it, I cranked the arm too hard and a bolt fell out. I simply rescrewed the bolt back on; never had a problem since. If it won't crank, try turning the crank backwards a bit, and then forwards again. Has worked every time.
- Will rust UNLESS you leave it to dry after use.
- Do use the suction cup base; it makes a huge difference and will slip around if you don't.
Overall, I'm happy with this purchase and would buy it again!

Bill: We bought a counter top IGLOO ice maker and my wife talked me into getting this manual ice crusher instead of an electric one and I am glad we did.
1. The suction device works great IF you have a flat surface. Our counter top has small tiles thus it will not attach to that but it does attach to a little tray we put on the counter. Usually I do not even use the suction device I just hold it in place and it is not a bother.
2. The IGLOO ice maker makes little bullets and this crusher grinds them up with no problem. I do NOT know how it would work with bigger ice cubes you make manually or from an automatic ice maker in a typical fridge / freezer.
3. Almost no effort at all is needed to grind the ice and it takes less time than standing at our previous ice crusher that was in the freezer door.
4. You can use it with your left hand or right hand.
