Michel Doyon: Bought this item to carry around when travelling with our fifth wheel trailer a couple of years ago. I found myself to keep it in the truck on a permanent basis and use it all the time. My truck as aluminum wheels that requires constant top-up of air. We don't have to wait until we get home to use a bigger compressor or look for a air station on the road, I can just use it wherever we are. I has worked flawlessly for a couple of years now and just love it. I would say that this should be your first RV accessory that you buy.

JF: I realize this set is expensive for portable compressors, but the great reviews at various RV sites convinced me to give one a try. I'm glad I did. The quality of the compressor seems great. Compared to others I have owned, it is very quiet. It's mounted with rubber feet to the base, so vibration is controlled. My use will primarily be RV travel, from bicycle and RV tires to winterizing the system.

The components in the kit are also really impressive. A very high quality air gun with gauge, and useful inflation tips. The bag itself is pretty clever, with perfect pockets for the two coiled hoses.

On minor tweak I did (which I am sure voided the warranty) is cut the power cable and add SAE connectors. This way I can power from other sources in the RV. I put the alligator clips on another SAE socket in case I want to hook them up.

Doug Burger: After a recent tire mishap and replacing all four tires on an RV trailer, we discovered when departing that the tires were installed with lower pressure than we wanted. After topping them off with a commercial pump (that was *slow*), we had more problems during the trip with the valve stems and had to look for tire pumps and tire shops to repair and keep going.

That motivated us to buy the VIAIR 400P-RV based on reviews from camping YouTubers. It'd been on my wish list for a while, but I finally took the plunge.

This is thing is awesome. It's very fast. Whereas the commercial pump took 12+ minutes to top off each trailer tire (from 38psi to 80psi), this VIAIR pump took 3 minutes 20 seconds for the same range.
It is shockingly quiet. While testing it out with the trailer, I wasn't sure it was on being away from me up at the front of the trailer.

The carry bag makes it easy to keep with me and even at home, just to pull it out and check/top off the automobile tires. I used to use a small 2-gal A/C pump at home, but it was getting tiresome to run extension cord to an outlet, reach the car, and wait for it to come up to pressure. This VIAIR...

Jamie Gorrell: Easy to use and much quieter than I expected. The automatic pressure shut-off and the trigger gun are so much nicer to work with than the standard model that forces you to run back and forth between the tire and the battery to turn it on and off each time you want to read the pressure.

Sendog: We just used this pump on our 34ft 17,000lb RV. Impressive. After discovering 2 flat dual tires and the generator not working at the RV storage lot we looked online for a decent pump that ran off 12v and watched reviews on this Viair. It's super expensive but it doesn't disappoint. We filled both tires in about 30 minutes. Having this is a life saver... Especially if you don't have shore power available. I highly recommend for any RV owner. Oh and it's one of the quieter units too.
