John in King George, Va: Purchased this just over a year ago and after using it 2-3 times a day…she finally died on us. We are purchasing another unit today because it is so easy to use and clean.

Alexandrew: Works great. Make sure you set the temperature to 212F or below. Otherwise you will steam the metals back into the water. And YES, water does start to boil before 212F.

Amazon Customer: I purchase this distiller for the conveniences of produce the disstilled water I need (without depending on stores being without and having to lug gallons of water).
After cleaning and set up I was happy it worked.
At 1st it worked even though it was very high maintenance (Clean scale prior to each run.) and didn't remove the chlorine smell (I did run 1 through a second time).

I then let the water sit to dissipate the chlorine prior to distillation.

I was happy that I had a distiller at hand for me at home as needed for my drinking water.

Then... it started spewing water all over the counter and notproducing disstilled water.
I cleaned/dried the gasket and seemed to be back to normal for about 2 gallons over 4 days.

Upon my next use...I had an electrical situation! (you may know what an electrical fire smells like.)

This is a dangerous (defective) product

There is a plus side to owning a water distiller; if we can find a good one. This one is not an acceptable one and is a fire Hazzard.
I do not mind spending money on good drinking water and the maintenance for good but I wish it would have lasted long enough to break even...

Frieda: Found the trouble >>>> The male input power connector on the distiller has a built in 10 Amp fuse accessible from the outside of the connector. With a screwdriver pry the plastic part holding the fuse out of the connector. My fuse checked OK, but the clips inside the connector had spread to the point where contact with fuse was lost. Using a small screwdriver, moved the spring clips to provide tighter contact with the fuse. Replaced fuse assembly back into plug and now distiller works properly. I have gone thru 4 distillers over the years. This the best distiller on the market today. The built in timer is key in that the distiller never goes dry on the bottom and burns at bottom.

Les S.: First of all, the instructions are vague and needs to be better.
Second the instructions to assemble the handle are vague and and assembly is a pain.
Third the baffle in the underside of the upper unit is a problem. My first batch water spewed out around the gasket. I let it cool and moved the baffle, which was pressing on the steam exit port, I moved completely off the vent and ran my second batch.
I finally got the leaking to stop and made my first batch. I notice a little leak so I put a large stainless glass of water on the top of the fan exit. Leak stopped.
My third batch I left the glass off and everything worked fine.
