So far I haven't noticed any physical differences, but the cays enjoy the treats! I will continue to feed them these treats and update my review if I notice any changes.

Kheft Kaligari: Although we were happy with our chosen brand, we thought we'd give this one a try. It's always a good idea to familiarize ourselves with backup products, especially in this era of supply chain issues. We're finding that all 4 cats dislike this supplement as is - they completely reject them as treats. As other reviewers have noted, the 'treats' are an awkward size, and are rather on the hard side for a soft chew. The odor is also quite overpowering - I felt a wave of nausea upon initially opening the bag. We'd hoped that perhaps our cats would be attracted to the stench. While they were indeed curious, none of them wanted anything to do with them after a thorough sniff inspection. This does not mean that the supplements are ineffective. Only that we have had to work harder to get our cats to accept them. We are now taking the time to break each treat into small crumbles which are then mixed into their wet food. While this is working so far, we have observed that now, none of the cats are finishing their food. Now we're watching how much food wastage this supplement may cause. All in all, this is considerable effort (and possible hidden cost) to administer a supplement. We've...

Karen G. BuddeKaren G. Budde: My cat is 1.5 and has leukemia. He began having sneezing fits throughout the day and his appetite dipped. My vet recommended the powder or chews; he isn’t usually picky about treats so I chose these. He is not very interested in the flavor or smell of them and sometimes spits them out. They are very firm and somewhat crumbly. He has a tendency to eat treats whole and about 4 days in he vomited them whole as well. Now I break them into 4-5 pieces each and give them before his meals. The sneezing has reduced to a normal amount and his “eye boogers” have lessened too although they were not a problem. With these I’m able to keep him comfortable and prevent him from developing an infection. I might try powder when we run out of these

Amazon Customer: alright ya'll I have tried L-Lysine for my cat before and she would not eat it, at first when I gave her a few of the treats she walked away, but once I cut the treat in half she ate it. I think they are a bit on the larger side, so if your cat does not eat them right away then I would try cutting them the way I did. Hoping these work ! ive only started using them a few days ago

Lois W: This is a vet supported product. I bought my first bag from the vet.
I have been giving my cat powdered Viralys in his food for several years for FVR. When the regular dose isn't enough, I'll give him a couple of these a day. It always clears it up. He loves them more than his actual "treats".
Unfortunately, it's not really much cheaper on Amazon than from the vet, which is disappointing. This bag will provide 30-60 days of treatment (2-4 tabs/day) if you use it at a daily regular dose.

Amazon Customer: My female calico who is getting to an advanced age was never fussy over the oral lysine gel we used to treat her. She would even turn her nose up at food we tried to mix with the gel to avoid administering it to her by hand, which could be a struggle. For that reason I was reluctant to try these treats but wanted something she could take that was less stressful for the both of us. At first it wasn't a success, but after luring her in with a regular treat and then rewarding her with another one afterward she was eventually consuming these treats without the need for the non-medicinal ones. After a week or so of two treats twice a day I noticed an improvement. My cat became more energetic and alert, and also stopped shaking her head and sneezing so often. The discharge from her eye only seems mildly reduced, but cleaning it up is no problem now that her overall health has improved. Needless to say I will be purchasing more.

Sneaky Burrito: I have five cats and at least three of them have eye herpes. One of them is a 10.5-month-old rescued kitten I got last month. I am fairly certain he had eye herpes before I brought him home, but at any rate, there is a bit of kitty stress in my household right now as he integrates himself, so one of my other eye herpes cats may have been shedding the virus and infected him. Thankfully, he does not have ulcers, but he has clear eye discharge and sometimes sneezes. So I asked my vet about lysine options.
Please note: this has chicken-based flavoring in it so it will not work for cats with chicken allergies and/or inflammatory bowel disease. (If you have a cat like that, your best bet is buying lysine tablets for humans and crushing them, then suspending them in liquid, drawing up in a syringe, and administering that way. Human lysine tablets are a bit too big for a cat to swallow.) If your cat is able to have most treats and such, these chews are a far better (as in, more pleasant for the cat and easier to administer) option.
Anyway, the herpes virus requires a lot of the amino acid arginine (which has a long carbon side chain and a positively-charged...
