Kristine Brown: I work in Veterinary Medicine and my dog has reoccurring E. coli urinary tract infection. I have seen specialist, some X-rays, ultrasounds, cultures. I have used broad spectrum antibiotics, I have used strong antibiotics, I have tried urinary medication, still we had UTI’s coming back about every 6 weeks.
I looked into this product and my veterinarian approved giving it a try. Since starting this we have had no UTI’s coke back. We have been UTI free for 5 months now. Coincidence maybe but we are NOT stopping it.

The primary cause of a urinary tract infection (UTI) is the E. coli bacteria (approx. 40% of a turd--sorry to use graphic language--is E. coli). Females are more prone to UTI's because the female urethra is shorter than males'. Basically, the bacteria can more easily get into the bladder of a female than a male. The same is true for both humans and dogs. So the theory behind cranberry is that some things in cranberry prevent E. coli from attaching to the wall of the urinary tract system. If the cells can't attach, they cannot build up a colony large enough to cause a problem.
There is still controversy in the medical/veterinary community about recommending cranberry for UTI treatment. Why? Well, it basically comes down to this. There are several factors that affect one's susceptibility to the infection.
