KristenKristen: Took me a while to get it on the car the first time. Turns out it was easier than I was making it. I thought I needed to open the hatch a little to get the metal hooks over it, but it fit in the opening fine without opening the hatch. Once everything was tightened it was very sturdy. One thing to note as mentioned in other reviews, if you have a step thru or female bike where the bar goes down, it may not fit. Mine just fits, but not without struggling and the shifter cables getting in the way. I don't want to damage them so I just bought the adapter bar to make it easier on myself. Used it today to bring my bike to the park. Worked great!
