Katrin Bradshaw: The book was almost in perfect condition- no wear on the spine or folded pages. I gave a quick skim and it seems to have no missing pages/damaged pages. I cant wait to read this book- as I loved the first one (and is not in great condition- ironic since both this one and the first volume were under used-acceptable)

MK: D is brought to a town that is being terrorized by vampires that seem to fall under different rules when it comes to behaviors and weaknesses. While he searches for the secrets behind these new types of vampires and a way to stop their threat, a talented girl struggles against dangerous odds to escape her frontier life.
Trigger Warning: this volume does contain rape and implied incest. Though this is a very minor part of the story, I felt it was enough that a warning should be listed.

Graeme: There is nothing quite like Vampire Hunter D. Set in a post apocalyptic future, Volume Two sees D hunting a vampire in a small town ten years after four children disappear. What should have been a routine job becomes more difficult when it is discovered that the vampire can rise during the day.
An enjoyable read with minimal editing errors, despite it being an English translation of Japanese text. The only complaint I have is the lack of resolution with the Mayor. (That man need to meet the pointy end of D’s sword)
Highly recommend, do yourself a favour and pick this one up, you won’t be disappointed.

Amazon Customer: I'd never read these books before, had only watched the anime. The way this is written, it's VERY anime. I went in expecting to read it like a Western novel. Don't do that. Read it like it's a manga, but purely text, and it's great. Very good pulp.

Allison: A fun read. It didnt have quite the epic feel as some of the other Vampire Hunter D books, but still had lots of interesting insights into the world of the Dhampir and Nobles. These books have something strange, exciting, and inventive on every single page! The only problem (as with every good book) is that it left me desperate for more.

LUGIA FLYHIGHT: The second novel of the VHD series. Through gripping and stunning the book grabs you from start to finish. Raiser of Gales brings D to a small town. The mayor hires the vampire hunter to vanquish a day ridden vampire, however the ruins of the nobility hold the secret to the towns sudden attacks.
With creatures manifested from the nobles and beasts spawned from the subconscience this book is well worth the time. Science mixed with fiction gives the reader an insight to what the vampires/dhampirs are (cell structure ect)and why.
The illustrations found within the book are a joy to look upon. Helps set character development.
The characters in the book are boisterous be it Lina and dark like the Mayor. However even the isolated D will come forth slighty as a character and his "apprentice" makes it thus so.
NOTE: The review is brief because it is to give insight to a future reader and is not a full synopsis of the story. This review is written to not spoil the peice of fiction but to give understanding to the book.

Michael Valdivielso: ...but when they're victims start moving about and killing people during the day time hours that can be a problem. The people of the village of Tepes are starting to become paranoid, seeing evil in everybody and everything. And they weren't too pure to begin with. Now they have the tall, dark, and handsome Vampire Hunter D in their town. And he is not too sure it is a vampire that is the problem.
Can D solve the mystery before too many people die at the hands of the new type of vampire? Can he solve the mystery before too many people die at the hands of their own protectors?
Great story, great illustrations, great second book to the ongoing Japanese horror series. I will be collecting as many as I can. Get it used or new!

Crystal Nelson: I liked this book as much as I love the first one. This time D finds himself a world he just can't get out of. It keep repeating itself over and over again. The girl in this book as quit a charcter and did not annoyed me as much as Doris Lang. She keeps following D where ever he goes. And he always tell her to "Go Home" Which always made me laugh. The girl he meets is very interested in Vampires and D in the novel finds her strange. WOW that something coming from D. The book was fantasic as always. But it's little sad at the end though.

Leitura recomendada.
