Gwendylon Frazier: Purchased this because it was a Delta replacing an exciting Delta. Not all Delta’s can be changed out with Delta. I could use pieces of shower replacement, but not all.

Koko V.: Got it for the dual handles thing. Temperature adjustment could be better and pressure too but I plan of changing the shower head down the road. It looks nice and works as intended.

Donald H. Love: Have replaced several of these over the years. It’s a straightforward valve that has been around and rock solid for years. I usually purchase these at the local box store, but they were out of this model, so I purchased this one through Amazon instead.
This is a solid valve that is not that hard to replace. THAT IS if you can get the Allen screw out to remove the handle and remove the bonnet nut without over torquing the mixing valve body and snapping any of the copper piping and fittings. If you can not easily remove the screw and or bonnet nut even after researching and watching YouTube videos on other alternatives on how to do so, which could involve drilling or possibly cutting the handle and bonnet nut off, I would stop and call a plumber. If you put too much torque on the bonnet nut while trying to remove it, you run the risk of causing water damage.
I have read that some find the handle or round trim plate flimsy. I must ask what are you doing with or to your shower handle and trim that you find too flimsy? Once you get this installed completely and correctly it’s as solid as any shower handle and trim on the market.

P. Gerry: Delta should have been clearer (I did call, and text them), that in addition to this item, all I needed was new o-rings and springs. Also instructions on removing the old cartridge would have been helpful. They are really worried about scalding to the point that I had to cut off some of the stop to allow a hotter shower. I should not have had to use a hacksaw to get the performance I wanted.

KM: Hard to find a shower-only controller that will let you change the volume and temperature separately. Finally found this one, but the install directions made it sound like there was to be very little play in the temp adjustments - saying installers needed to inform clients that they might have to make seasonal changes to the settings, to account for varying temps in the cold water coming in. That set me on fire, but I was stuck at that point, having already installed the Delta controls behind the wall, so I went ahead and installed it, anyway.

There's a gear-like device in the guts of the faucet that actually will stop you from adjusting the temp more than a few clicks, but I called them, to try to find out what the heck that was all about, and they swore that it would not stop me from adjusting the temp any way I wanted. I called them liars, and quoted the passage, but they insisted.

Once I started assembling, I kept trying it repeatedly along the way - to ensure nothing stopped me from adjusting all the way. There were some gear teeth pieces left over, but it still worked, so I stopped there. It works. I can control the temp from all cold water, to all hot water,...
