Sara Smithie: I am a fan of Carolynn Myss, always have been....after reading Anatomy of the Spirit, its difficult to compare - but i would say this book did not 'grab me' like Anatomy did - perhaps after awhile I will pick tgis up again, try again. I do believe in her view of our Western medicine culture and support her theories. But this book lost its flow for me....

Beverly Fletcher: Life changing is not an overstatement. This book is the best “self-help” book I’ve read in 30 years, and I’ve read a lot. It’s not a quick read, but worth the time if you’re ready to do the work. It cohesively connects multiple spiritual beliefs, with psychology and physical health and healing. It’s full of information , insight and personal stories and exercises enlightening emotional work. I was compelled after 15 -20 min of reading to stop for a periods of introspection and reflection and approach to relationships.
Although timeless in life application, reading it was emotionally grounding as I recovered from a terrible 2 month bout with Covid 19.

It also helped me to recalibrate choices about re-engaging in personal, work, community relationships after a year of social isolation during the pandemic.

mom of 3 young men: who are those inner voices come from inside of us? they are our archetypes! the child, the saboteur, the healer, the victim... oh so many to find out about.
they are the voices of our fearful ego and our loving Self... find out who they are, and how to understand them... to understand them is to discover the mythology within your own soul... and to come to know who you are, why you react and act the way you do, why you make bad or good choices, what your path is like now, and how to better steer your journey towards your highest purpose.
you could also learn to relate to other people better. instead of seeing ONLY how people act and reacting to them, you will actually be able to start understanding why they act as they do and maybe learn to interact with others better instead of reacting to them.
if you can get through even some of the major parts of the book, your inner conversations could take on maturity and clarity. YOU will be in better control of your Life by knowing your various selves...
even when i did not even finish the book from cover to cover, i started to pick up valuable insights on my own inner voices... very good perspective to learn to take on about...

Janet Boyer: The idea is that we made "contracts" before coming to this earth, and we play them out every day. When we feel a "zing" of recognition at meeting someone, or feel like we'd like to choke them, we are experiencing animation...a divine connection that says "Hey, I have a contract with you!"

In Sacred Contracts, Myss weaves together Christian, Buddhist, and other traditions, shwoing how the central religious figures (Jesus, Buddha, etc.) walked out *their* contracts on the earth.

The most interesting part, for me, was the discovery of personal Archetypes and the casting of the Wheel. I could see myself and others in the "Fab Four" Archetypes common to all (Victim, Saboteur, Child, and Prostitute), as well as the individual Archetypes that we draw on most in our life. Archetypes are energies and characteristics we us to fulfill our specific contracts in the world. We use archetypal language every day: "I'm tired of fighting this!" (Warrior), or "She acts like the Queen of England" (Queen) etc. It's not hocus pocus...it's the realization that we take on certain energies and dramas in our life that assist us in our individual Who and Why.
