Christine: This is an outstanding book. I've read it at least three or four times, and I've taught through it in small groups twice. It's a valuable, accessible resource for anyone who is seeking to study the Bible more carefully and grow in Biblical literacy. I appreciate Jen Wilkin's straightforward approach as she outlines key reasons and practical tools for Bible literacy. It has helped me grow and handle the Bible more effectively as a student and as a teacher. I have used Jen's methods for studying multiple books of the Bible now and have found her suggestions valuable in handling the Word of God for myself. This book is easy to read and simple enough to start implementing right away. I appreciate that the updated edition has discussion questions included, which makes facilitating a small group easier than it was the first time around! I highly recommend this book to any individual or group wanting to grow in Bible literacy with the focus of knowing and loving God more.

Bibellesen mit Tiefgang und einfacher Struktur! Klasse!
Das Buch kann man allein lesen oder auch als Gruppe durcharbeiten.
Auch die Kürze fällt positiv auf!

CHAUNTEL VICKERS: I loved the approach this bible study took. The multi view approach. It looked at who wrote this, who is the intended audience, historical references of that time, etc, etc.

I truly enjoyed this study.

Erica: Although it may sound basic here and there this book is actually clearly intended to be a great help at digging for a solid foundation. Jen Wilkin is clearly a gifted teacher who repeats for emphasis and with the need of building a whole picture in the readers' minds. Being a Christian for long I have often neglected important aspects of Bible study.. to my own detriment. Read this book and answer the questions the author poses to you. There are lots of takeaways.

K Rogal: I found this book to be both challenging and inspiring. It has helped to motivate me to spend more time in God's word and has given me some tools to dig for deeper understanding of what I am reading. A great starting point for anyone wanting to understand the Bible better by digging into context, form, genre, purpose, etc. The six "Ps" of Bible study that Jen shares are Purpose, Perspective, Prayer, Patience, Process, and People. Her suggestions help me to focus my thoughts and give me a framework for studying God's word in a way that focuses on the Bible as a book about God, rather than a book about me!
