musicangel14: First off, this is a deal for all the books-trust me I made the mistake of first looking in Barnes and Noble. Second off, if the show was exciting for you but you wanted more, do yourself a favor and get this box set. I think I read all these books faster than it took me to watch just half of the first season.
Overall, I like how the books had more detail, about the pilot, the lore, the background, and of course the characters! I feel more in love with the characters in the books than I did the show. I also feel like things where explained a little better in the book, and the show left things to be interpreted on your own. At the end of the day, these books where better than I thought, and made me wonder why the show did things differently...

Mel: I love the Grishaverse, watched the first series on Netflix, was hooked, but I love a good book and just had to read the rest of the books in the series, I was not disappointed.
If you're a reader and love anything high fantasy and other worldly, you won't be disappointed .
I love the intensity in the way the auther Leigh Bardugo rights.
Definitely 5 stars.

David C.: Just finished this trilogy and I just have to say… this was the most enjoyment I’ve gotten out of reading in a LONG time. The characters were amazing, and I really found myself rooting for the bad guy… even though I knew, it couldn’t end well for him.
Because the author was drawing from a lot of different cultures and several of the characters are mixed, I had a hard time picturing it at first—BUT— there’s a tv show! Also amazing by the way. Once I had some faces and images to go with the books I was hooked.
The author is also writing the tv show, so their portrayal on screen is true to the characters but she does change some stuff! It’s sort of like the book is her second draft and the tv series is the third draft, and I love both!

There is a second series I haven’t read yet, house of crows or something and that series is being tied into the tv show, I’m not sure in what ways because I haven’t read those yet.

Over all, it has a similar feel and hook as the twilight series, though less teeny. It’s not about high school students, thank goodness 😅. But it has an interesting take on a familiar subject (magic vs vampires), fantastic...

katelyn morris: After watching the second season of the Netflix TV Show, I broke down and bought a book or two for the first time in a very long time. So first, I will talk about the set itself and hopefully, come back on to review each individual book once I finish it. I was so excited to get this set of books! I love each books' cover design. And it came with a handy sleeve to keep them all in. Now, I just finished the first book today and started the second. I was surprised by how close the show stayed in-line with the first book, Shadow and Bone. I guess we will see with the other two.
So, here is a review of the first book: When reading a book, I can usually come up with my own picture in my mind of the characters, settings, and events of said book. I couldn't really do that with this. I was too busy always comparing it to the show that came out last year (which I love). That is why I like to read the book before I see a movie or show. I love to compare the two. And I got to say, spot on so far! Now I can't wait to finish the next book and possibly get the accompanying books that the show was based on- The Six of Crows Duology and The King of Scars.

Alex: Esta serie ha sido una sorpresa tan agradable. He tenido curiosidad por el Grishaverse y había leído un capítulo de muestra de Six of Crows, sabía que SoC estaba justo en mi callejón, pero quería leer todos los libros cronológicamente (es un problema; estoy trabajando en ello). Yo era escéptico sobre Shadow and Bone ya que se comercializa como YA y soy más un lector de fantasía adulto. No estaba decepcionado.

Shadow and Bone cuenta con todos los tropos estándar del mal YA: tiene un supuestamente llano, pero súper poderoso y crédulo protagonista, un villano ridículamente bien escrito y un triángulo amoroso conveniente para arrancar. A pesar de todo esto, la historia FUNCIONÓ. Y estoy tan contento de haber seguido leyendo el Libro 2, porque ahí es cuando las cosas se ponen increíblemente buenas. El libro 3 también es espectacular en este sentido. Devoré estos libros durante 4 días muy maníacos, y no me arrepiento ni un poco. Definitivamente considera comprar esta trilogía si estás buscando una incursión oscura pero entretenida en la fantasía temática más joven. La trilogia si compone dei seguenti titoli:

Shadow and Bone: a cui ho dato una valutazione di 5/5 stelle
Siege and Storm: a cui ho dato una valutazione di 4.5/5 stelle
Ruin and Rising: a cui ho assegnato 4.3/5 stelle

Avevo acquistato il cofanetto completo della trilogia prima di verificare che mi piacesse il primo libro e che la volessi continuare. Ma ero sicura che non mi avrebbe deluso, anche se non immaginavo sarebbe stata così bella. Ha superato ogni mia aspettativa! Tra l'altro il cofanetto contiene un bellissimo poster con la mappa del mondo Grisha, ed è più grande di quello che mi aspettavo!

Tutto in questa serie è perfetto, dalla storia, ai personaggi, fino alle ambientazioni. Il mondo creato dalla Bardugo è intrigante e coinvolgente, ricco di dettagli.
Il concetto della Piega Oscura è molto interessante. La Bardugo non fa dell'oscurità una metafora, ma prende il concetto alla lettera: un posto reale; regno delle creature più malvagie. L'oscurità è il loro territorio e, per sconfiggerli, bisogna entrarvi fisicamente.

Nella creazione di questo mondo, la Bardugo si è ispirata alla Russia dell'età imperiale....
