Sherry Stewart: This is a nicely written companion story to flesh out the world from “ The First Girl Child”.
The hero’s still live, the bad guys still die, and a new hopefully blessed world is to begin. Meanwhile, we know more people and their backgrounds and expansion of the existing known characters.
Maybe the author will let us visit this world again to see how it develops!

Glenda: Another great book by Harmon. I enjoyed getting this view of the tale from Book One. New and former characters come to life in her stories. My only regret is that portions of this book were direct lifts from book 1. I understand why this was done and wished it hadn’t been. Perhaps if I hadn’t read book 2 immediately after book 1 it wouldn’t have bothered me. At any rate, I highly recommend this book and the series.

Tracey: Enjoyed the book but found it had too much of the first in it.
Amy is a great writer though and you really feel the characters.

Amazon Customer: Your story telling is so beautiful. Your characters have so much to give. I like that when I’m finished one of your books, I have hope. Faith that good will prevail, and that the world will be set to rights. Thank you for your words.

Hajni: I did need this different perspective and I’m so grateful for the second book. I absolutely in love with the writing, the words, the dramatics. I love the human lives in this book and their imperfections. I love how deep their fate is.

One Man Book Club: The media could not be loaded. The Second Blind Son (The Chronicles of Saylok, Book 2)
By: Amy Harmon
My Rating: FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS
Best for: 18 and up
Whoa. Wow. Holy cow. What a story!
The Second Blind Son was….powerful? Passionate? Gripping? Romantic? Really, really cool?
Yes. Yes it was.
I was impressed with The First Girl Child, and I don’t impress easily. Just the Norse-Mythology based worldbuilding alone deserves praise for it’s careful detail and seamless incorporation into the narrative. It’s smooth. And it’s awesome. It was very well imagined, wonderfully built, and perfectly executed. Theology, culture, government, the magic system, and even societal expectations were delivered clearly, and in a way I would have expected from a much longer book. Skilled writing, indeed!
The characters and their relationships were some of the best I’ve read. Amy Harmon’s ability to get her characters to connect to each other and to the reader has earned her legions of loyal fans. I had plans for the characters from the first chapter, and there was a delicious slow burn as the pages turned themselves to the satisfying...

Wendy LeGrand: I have travelled back to the land of Saylok, and it was glorious!! Amy takes her readers on another fantastical journey and let me tell you, I was SO immersed in this world with Ghisla and Hod!
Having read the First Girl Child, I was already familiar with Saylok and all that happened there during Alba and Bayr’s story. Well, Amy immerses readers right back into that same timeframe, but from an entirely new perspective. And let me tell you, Amy made it so completely different, you feel like you are reading a brand-new story, even though you already know how everything plays out.
I fell completely in love with Ghisla and Hod. Both characters have faced so many challenges in their young lives. But while Ghisla feels hopeless and just wants it all to end, Hod seems to have endless hope, and he never lets Ghisla give up.
“Promise me you will not give up.
I will not give up today.”
It was fascinating how even though Hod was blind, he could “see” most people more clearly than those who had sight. He could hear people’s heartbeats, and the rhythm and cadence of them told him so much about the character of the person, and whether they were...

Reifer: Another really well constructed, entertaining and absorbing book. As with the first, I couldn’t put this down and have neglected much because of that!
