Rachelvillalta: Very rare for me to say, but this second book was even better than the first. The first was great, don’t get me wrong, and I love that the characters were still the main ones in this second one. But I will say that I read this second book out of loyalty to the series (I’m just like that, I like to read series completely even if it’s ‘just alright’).

However, the story line, action and mystery in this second book was so much more fun to read. Or maybe I just like Yvie more than Elena? Idk. But I’m excited to read the next one now!!

Jacqueline Clayton: After reading The Vine Witch, I had to continue with the series. The Glamourist is enthralling and captivating. I love Luanne’s writing style. It just pulls you into the moment as soon as you start reading. I simply lost hours of time one Saturday morning, as I had begun reading when I had awaken very early that day. And, because I couldn’t put down the book and next thing I know, it was almost afternoon.
I can’t wait to read the last book in this series. Bravo!!

DebiDeaux: Book 2 of the Vine Witch series took me a while to settle into. As I recall, book 1 was not an immediate draw for me. But they both delivered the goods.
The Glamourist has many of the same characters as the 1st book in the series. Most notably, Elena, the Vine Witch. She owes her life & her freedom to 2 others from the prison of the 1st tale. The Glamourist follows the failed, powerless witch Yvette of Paris. She accidentally steals a wish to return home to Paris, whereas he is wanted for murder. Elena just happens to be in Paris to visit her future Mother-in-law. Elena learns that her background could keep her from legally working the vineyards. Unless, she can help the government arrest the young woman that helped to exonerate her. Well, harumph, whatever is an honest, loyal young Vine witch to do?
Well, therein lies another good story.
If you read the Vine Witch Book 1, I highly recommend you continue the tale. If you have not read book 1, book 2 can stand alone but is much better with the background of book 1.
Enjoy! I'm off to book 3 😁 📖...

Dashing Dave: Sharp readers of book 1 will have noticed that one part of that story was left unfinished, and this book ties up part of it wonderfully. Not everyone gets what they want, but you’ll still like how it ends.

Lance Mitchell: The Glamourist picks up where The Vine Witch left off, following the magical stories of Elena, Yvette and Sidra. Who would have thought that there was such a variety of magic among witches, genies and fairies? Not only that, but within each group there are conflicts that would rival many mortal societies.

Yvette and Sidra find themselves trapped in the city, which is obviously Paris although never named as such. Sidra is furious as she blames Yvette for their entrapment because it is her curiosity and desire that has drawn them to the city. It takes most of the rest of the book to discover exactly why and how they became trapped.

Elena is there with her mortal husband, Jean-Paul, to meet her mother-in-law to be, Marion. The legislators of the witching world, the Ministry of Lineages and Licences, block Elena’s right to practice as a vine witch and insist that revert to what they see as her birth line, potions and poisons, unless and until such time as she turns in Yvette, who they believe to be a convicted murderer.

Although Elena is desperate to return with J-P to their vineyard in the south of France to continue with the production of fine wines, she has...

Mary Eve: Book Two picks up a month after THE VINE WITCH conclusion. Elena's former cell mates, Yvette and Sidra, are in a heated discussion high above Paris. They are fugitives in the City of Light. A stolen wish has bound them together. Elena, the star of Book One, has been exonerated from all charges but faces difficult decisions and may lose the ability to practice as a vine witch. She's been placed on a probationary period. The discovery of her parent's nefarious bloodline poses life altering complications. On top of that, Elena is set to meet her future mother-in-law, a woman who knows nothing of Elena's lineage. In this predicament and once again connected to the murderous brothel girl from THE VINE WITCH. Elena develops a soft spot for Yvett whenen it's revealed both are orphans. Where Elena is sure-footed, Yvette is a total misfit. Elena agrees to help Yvette discover her roots and in the process gains new understanding of her own beginnings. Sidra the genie makes several appearances. Yvette has unwittingly "stolen" a wish from Sidra, tying their fates together.

So, I flipped between Audible and Kindle Unlimite here. I meshed with the audio version more than said book. The...

Leigh: Abandoned as a child in turn-of-the-century Paris, Yvette Lenoir has longed to uncover the secrets of her magical heritage and tap her suppressed powers. But what brave and resourceful Yvette has done to survive the streets has made her a fugitive. With a price on her head, she clings to a memento from her past—what she believes to be a grimoire inherited from the mother she never knew. To unlock the secrets of her past, Yvette trusts in one woman to help solve the arcane riddles among its charmed pages.

Elena Boureanu is the vine witch of Château Renard, noted for its renowned wines. Even as she struggles with her own bloodline—and its poisonous threat to her future—Elena can’t ignore a friend on the run. Joined by a cunning thief, the proprietor of an enchanted-curio shop, and a bewitching black cat, Elena and Yvette are determined to decode Yvette’s mysterious keepsake. But what restless magic will be unleashed? And what are Yvette and Elena willing to risk to become the witches they were destined to be?

The book is written in a 3rd person narrative, with mostly Elena and Yvette being the primary focus of the chapters. The chapters are quite short: most...
