Amy Hodges: This book was very well written. The book put very sharp, images to mind and put the reader in another space and time within the books confines.

Aleksandra L.: If you like books similar to ACOTAR or FBAA, this is the book for you! Although some themes felt very similar to both of those series, A.K. Mulford writes a captivating story involving witches and Fae! It’s not often that you get to read about witches and them being a focal point because they’re typically briefly mentioned or are just background characters.
High Mountain Court follows our MC, Remy, in third person POV. For the past 13 years she’s been hiding from her past, traveling from tavern to tavern with two other witches. Her secrets that she keeps and things she’s hiding from aren’t very clear at the beginning, so I loved how things unfolded as the story gets told. I like to be surprised so I didn’t think too hard on the clues so when the twists and turns started happening I was consumed.
I liked the world building, characters, friendships, the history, the adventure, tension, and romance. However I do have a few things on why I docked a star. Things felt pretty rushed throughout the book. The biggest disappointing scene was where we find out about the Fated *cough*…I felt like there was no shock factor behind it. There should have been a little...

T Gray: I stumbled across this book, is the first I’ve read by this author and it will definitely not be the last.
I was completely engrossed from the very beginning. The storyline was full of twists and turns that kept me reading well into the night. A story full of adventure and heartache, camaraderie and love. I wasn’t a fan of Remy in the beginning, but she went us massively in my estimation come the end. As for Hale, a swoon worthy character to be added to my list of book boyfriends for sure!
Off now to read the next in the series!

AshlanAshlan: “Never let anyone else tell you who you are, Remy, even me. No one decides how bright you shine but you.”
I want to start by saying this was a really good book! It had all the best elements within a great fantasy. This story follows a girl who’s whole life has been spent in hiding from her past. However one day fate comes knocking on her door and she can no longer hide who she is. I love how our MC’s secrets weren’t exactly apparent from the beginning. As the story went on we pick up bits of context clues, to figure out what exactly she was hiding. And it’s such a great twist. Our buddy read group did call it out a little early on but it was still great to watch it happen!
I loved the plot, the characters, the action, and especially the romance. Unfortunately I do have some thoughts. The beginning felt very rushed and I was confused how by page 30 we were already on our quest, bickering with the frustrating but hot prince. Additionally I did feel she went from “he’s a spoiled, rich bastard” to “Hale was gorgeous” a little quickly, in like 20 pages exactly. But other than those things I actually did really like this book! I looked forward to...

"Never let anyone else tell you who you are, Remmy, not even me. No one decides how bright you shine but you."
This was a very good read. I enjoyed both the main character and became invested in the side characters as well.
The romantic relationship between Remmy and Hale developed well. I'm not quite sure if I would fully consider it enemies to lovers but it was definitely a slow burn. And I am, of course, a sucker for a fated/mated pairing.
I love the that A.K included LGBTQ relationships as well as gender inclusiveness.
As much as I absolutely loved this book, I felt as though there was a potential for a whole series just from what is within this book alone. I feel like a lot was glossed over like...
•Remmy's childhood
•How Remmy met Fenrin and Heather
•The 13 years leading up to this book
•The year they were at the tavern in the beginning of the book.
•Hale's childhood(who the heck is his real dad)
•How Hale and his friends met
•The relationship between the Royal heirs

I can’t wait to read the others books, MULFORD is now in my : “I’ll buy the book before reading the title” list.
I’ve read the High mountain Court on kindle and I can assure you that I will buy a physical copy to annotate all my favorites moments.
I cried, I laughed, I gasped. I recommend a hundred percent .

Cris M: Really good story, took a bit to pick up. It has a lot of common fantasy elements, but it still manages to be unique.
