Dori: I have a wood burning insert in my fireplace, and it is elevated. Our house is mid century modern and these simple tools are the perfect addition. The tools are the perfect size. They feel heavy and well made. I LOVE the bent broom! I wasn't sure about it at first, but it works great! I'm excited for fall and winter to use my new tools!

Anne P. Mitchell: I *love* this set of fire tools! I specifically got them because they were the shortest ones, because I wanted to use them with my wood stove. So, when I was waiting for them to arrive, I wasn't sure what sort of quality they would be, as I bought them as much for their size as anything else.

Well, I was *so* pleasantly surprised! These things are STURDY!! And they look great! (Not as important as size and sturdiness, but a nice bonus!)

The stand and the little broom needed assembly, but it was *very easy*, and they include the little wrench that you need to tighten the stand. It took us less than 5 minutes to put together.

All told, I am very VERY pleased with this set, and it is really perfect for a wood stove!

Typical Chinese quality - marginal as far as care in production and finishing, but the stand went together well in about 15 minutes, and is sturdy on the floor. Screw holes and threads were OK on the braces and lined up properly. Start by installing both braces on one leg, leaving the screws very loose. Add the second leg the same way, and finish by adding the other two before tightening anything up. Setting the base on your hearth or other flat surface will keep things aligned when you tighten the screws and insure that it will sit straight.

The tools are substantial in weight, but plain. The log lifter is probably too short to be of any real use, as it would be like lifting logs with your fingertips. The brush is at a good angle for a small stove or fireplace insert, but has the typical cheap bristles and plastic to hold them. The threads to attach the brush to the handle are only in the plastic, with no metal nut or other means to tighten, and mine were mis-threaded and hard to start. It will probably need...

Barb Scillian: It was extremely difficult to assemble, the only way to keep it from rocking was to reassemble the parts in a different order over and over. The screws and brackets did not line up well. The edges and corners of the pieces are very rough (beyond what 'rustic' would call for).
I was pleased by the size.

Miss Cara: I bought the mini fire set because my fireplace has a wood stove inset. They are the perfect size for cleaning and arranging logs in the wood stove. The set is very durable and practical. I really find the shovel and poker are very useful tools, but the log lifter is tad bit awkward to use with heavy, large diameter logs. The brush is a good size and angle, but the only problem I have is the bristles were permanently bent on one side--still works though. I'm pleased with my purchase.
