Madd Maxx: I remember many of these recipes and time spent in the kitchens of Moms, Grandmothers, Aunts, and Cousins. Fortunately, there were always vegetable gardens in addition to "store bought." Nothing went to waste. Louise Davidson has brought back many cherished moments with these vintage recipes. I am especially fond of the "Dutch Baby" pancakes!

Robin Richter: I bought this for my neighbor baskets this holiday and what a response! It was the perfect finishing touch to the other gifts nestled within and was really well-received. I will be buying a some more to tuck away for last minute gift needs. The cookbook is a perfect mix of nostalgia and sharing recipes that deliver old time, memorable homemade goodness. But not too fussy for a new cook, such as your just-married or trying things out younger cook in the family. Also, a joy to read as well from what my neighbor said. I only wish I had bought one for our family but will do so this time around.

Cherei M.: I love how the author embraces old family cookbooks the same way I do! It's one of the rare ways to connect to the women in our family who are sometimes no longer with us. The notes they wrote when they were younger than we are now. The connection they made with their own families handing down delicious family traditional meals that were served all the time. Not just the "holiday" special recipes. I found many of the old recipes that I remembered from my own childhood when spending a week or two with my own Grandmother!
A pure delight to read! I have bookmarked several recipes that I know I want to make! Awesome collection! The author truly outdid herself! This is a must have cookbook for all who want to bring back homemade meals that are perfect to serve to one's family and friends!
