JoAnn I.: Reading this book, I've realized that those things in the Bible I didn't comprehend, I just shrugged at and moved on. Ther things I absorbed at a very rudimentary level. This book puts hard concepts in a way I can grab ahold of and retain. Thank you Gregory Koukl.

Pearlgearl: Our culture does, indeed, love stories. All cultures have wonderful stories and myths. But little stories cannot tell you about realest reality, only what we think is might be, or should have been.

Western culture is now obsessed with the idea that all stories are Real, and that all stories are different. But that logically fails.

So Greg takes us all through the Realest Reality. The Story to end all stories. And he does it with the loveliest touch of Tolkien and Lewis, who loved stories.

Aaron M. Taylor: Koukl has an amazing way of writing that will take you in and present the story of Christianity in a way that puts all the pieces together. It is filled with great illustrations and perspectives that cause you to think more deeply about the questions concerning the Christian worldview. A must read!

Jeffrey C. Hoots: Greg Koukl masterfully explains the Christian world view in an easy to understand, accurate, and confident style. He explains how the world began, why the world is the way it is, what role we play in the drama, and how all the plot lines are resolved in the end. He also compares and contrasts other world views, religious and not religious, explaining how and why they fail to explain how things really are. Those of us who have received God's mercy by trusting in the person and work of Jesus will be encouraged and strengthened by reading The Story of Reality, skeptics will learn why Jesus is the only one who can rescue rebellious humanity and a broken creation, and active rebels against the Creator of the universe will learn of their plight and the punishment coming their way, and of a way out. A must read for a tone who wonders, "who am I and why am I here?"

Dorottya Nagy: It really clarifies the big picture if you are struggling. Very logical book that just makes sense if you have a Christian worldview, but recommend it for everyone who’s interested!

kelly: This book is written in everyday language. The way most people have a conversation. I went to bible college so I consider myself having fundamental biblical knowledge. After reading this book I said to myself, this a book that explains the way the church or all Christians should explain to people who are not Christians, especially those who believe their is a God but can't put the puzzle of reality together. Most people I meet want to believe in something. I thank God for this book, It has given me a word and a way of sharing the gospel that was missing in my education. Do yourself a favor, read the book a second time slowly, the buy a few books and give away to those who you know is struggling with putting meaning to life, I am sure you need to look over your shoulder to find someone.

David Williamson: I’m indebted to Greg Koukl. His book Tactics revolutionised my approach to personal evangelism and equipped me to engage in conversation with people of all backgrounds and persuasions. However, while I have always valued Greg as an apologist, and have been impressed at his ability to articulate at a popular level clear thinking on important issues, I began to read this book with some apprehension: I do not like books that oversell themselves. To me, the title, and more particularly the sub-title, could not possibly describe the contents of a book that is only 200 pages long.

I have been pleasantly surprised, and truly impressed by this well thought out, very attractive summary of the Christian worldview. Greg is a master-teacher, with tremendous ability to communicate complex thoughts at a level understandable to almost anyone.

In the preface Greg states that “life is a kind of story, and this Story has an Author”. He continues, “In this book I want to tell you that Story - the Story of reality - and help you see your place in it”.

The book divides into six large sections and concludes with a brief epilogue. The six main sections are...

K. Gabriel Pagel: Book Review: The Story of Reality: How the World Began, How It Ends, and Everything Important that Happens in Between
Author: Gregory Koukl
Format: Paperback
Topic: Theology of Christianity
Scope: The Metanarrative of the Christian Worldview
Purpose: To explain to Christians and Skeptics the reality of the Christian faith and help readers to understand the claims made by Christianity.
Outline: 5 sections each explaining one aspect of the Christian Story. 1. God; 2. Man; 3. Jesus; 4. Cross; 5. Resurrection. Additionally, there is an Introduction and an Epilogue.

What it does well: Koukl does a masterful job of explaining the Christian worldview for a lay audience. He is clearly evangelical, but strives to focus on what all branches of Christianity would adhere to. In other words, he sticks to "mere" Christianity. He also explains well why understanding this information is crucial to explaining Christianity to skeptics and other non-Christians.

What it lacks: Because this book focuses on the metanarrative of Christianity and its relation and claims about reality, it is not full of scripture exposition. This is not really in the scope of the book. The...
