JK: Thoroughly enjoying this book. Entertaining but also so well thought out and informative. The author makes it interesting by telling a bit of his own story and experience as an investigator.
For anyone wanting to bolster their faith with strong arguments or for those who are still unsure about Christianity I highly recommend.

Steph: This book is so helpful in teaching how to defend your faith. It gives concrete examples from a wide range of areas that will give you an answer for every skeptic in your life.
It should be included with every Bible sold to help people stand up for their faith, which is especially hard to do in our world of misinformation and prejudice against Christians.
It gave me a new hunger for the Word and I think everyone should read it, Christian or not, and see where your beliefs lie at the end of the book

jtbuster: Out of all my Christian apologetics books, this one is at the top of my list.
I've watched theists and atheists argue it out over thing such as "does God exist", "where does morality come from", etc.
but this book uses the same logic we use in our criminal justice system to put bad guys away to test to see if the gospel accounts hold up under scrutiny.
The Christian journey does not need to start at blind faith(not that God demands blind faith to begin with).
I have not found convincing rebuttals to the content in this book and can't help but wonder why I can't find debates against J Warner Wallace.
To me, that means either the case Wallace has is too strong, atheists are too busy attacking world religion in general(versus Christianity), or Wallace does not do debates. Don't know for sure.
No Christian apologetic book will be able to contain details from every category of apologetics, so I don't expect every topic to be covered.
I found the book "Stealing from God" makes a solid argument for why atheists must steal from God to make arguments against God.
There is not enough room for Wallace to touch on that topic in depth, but Turek does, whereas folks who...

A. Nix: Introduction
Cold-Case Christianity: A Homicide Detective Investigates the Claims of the Gospels is one of the latest books to examine the evidence for the reliability of the New Testament. Homicide detective J. Warner Wallace was an atheist before he began putting Christianity to the same tests that he places witnesses and suspects to in his investigations of crimes. He split his book into two sections. The first deals with the methods used in detective work. He uses his own experiences to illustrate and applies them to the different aspects of Christianity. In the second part, he specifically targets the reliability of the four gospels as eyewitness accounts of history. This review will be a chapter-by-chapter summary but should not be taken as comprehensive of Wallace's presentation:

Section 1: Learn to Be a Detective

Chapter 1: Don't Be a "Know-it-All"
In the first chapter Wallace begins his training of the reader by speaking a bit about presuppositions. He explains that presuppositions are ideas that we come to an investigation with prior to any investigating. They usually determine our conclusion before we examine the evidence. Though everyone has these,...
