Matthew John Jenkins:
Bought one for myself, and a few of these for friends who had recently gone vegan, and some others who were eating a plant based diet but weren't aware of the ethical issues.
They agreed with me that at times, this can be awful to read, and there's much in this book which I had no clue about.
This book pulls back the curtain on so many horrid things which were done to other animals in the past, and unfortunately, a lot of them are still ongoing presently. Some of the details that I read in there genuinely put me in a state of nearly tearing up, or borderline red mist!
Worst part is though, the majority of folk are clearly still unaware of it due to propaganda - no pun intended - by the immensely sick animal farming industry, bombarding people everyday with clever / sinister marketing tactics, many of which are highlighted in the book.
The things they hide from people nowadays is a disgrace, and there should be a law of transparency where that vile industry has to show exactly what happens to those other animals. In particular and for example, there should be imagery on display of what happens to dairy mother cows and their babies, in the dairy...

Migs Fiel:
Exhaustively researched and well-written book for the case of being humane towards animals. Earthling Ed managed to make the book comprehensive while keeping his explanations concise. It is easy to read and can be the only book you will have to read about veganism. It includes discussions on:
1. The ethics of consuming and using animal products
2. The environmental destruction the animal industry causes, and why going vegan is an urgent matter
3. How to be healthy and even thrive on a vegan diet
4. How the US and UK governments misuse taxes to support the animal industry and then use more taxes to mitigate the ill effects of animal farming
5. How the media deceives us about animal products and puts vegans in a bad light
6. The logic of going vegan
7. How to talk about veganism with other people
Everyone, regardless of belief, should read this book. If it matters, Ed Winters focuses on the presentation of facts without being annoying. This book is a major achievement and I am proud that I own a copy.

This Is (NOT) Vegan Propaganda.......
Ed Winters has for years talked about veganism, or the plant-based lifestyle, with all kinds of people all over the world, from cattle ranchers to slaughterhouse and factory farm workers to animal rights activists to people on the street or interviewers. He has not, however, been able to gather the courage to discuss why he's a vegan with those people closest to him, his family. He fears offending them, it seems, for he believes that his family expects him to remain the same person he was as a child. This is very sad. If parents expect you to remain as you were as a child, they don't love you, but only their idea of you.
In 2022's This Is Vegan Propaganda and Other Lies the Meat Industry Tells You, Winters proves how well he knows his subject. His reasons for the many benefits of veganism are based on scientific research with their sources noted and included in the back.
This could be a very long review because there's a lot of intense information to digest. As a longtime vegan I knew much of this (not about chicen plumping) because I too have read the research into animal abuse at factory farms and...
