The WIFI was easy to set up. Just add you user name & password

The lock its self was easy to install. But the sensor was tricky as most doors have trim and had to cut the trim to mount the sensor, The dead bolt itself was the trickiest it's self bought 3 of these locks. you have to get them so lined up straight so the lock works smoothly. They also if not lined up they Jam. The Pro model dead bolt latch was messed up and jammed many times I worked hours to get it to function smoothly so it would lock on it's own. Ended up using the Schlage dead bolt latch that I had. I drilled holes out so the bolts would fit. and just like that. It worked prefect. Locks on it's own and I had it working in minutes. This I think is the main problem with this lock. It jams and you have to make sure it's lined up straight. But better yet if they had Schlage make the dead bolt latch it would be the perfect lock...

Jackie C: We have tried three "smart" locks so far and this one is a clear winner. It works flawlessly and is incredibly easy to install, set up and use. I am particularly impressed by the autolocking feature - as long as the door is shut, there's no need to worry about locking it. The accompanying app is very handy for granting access to people and checking the door's status while you're away. It's also perfect for those who rent out their home, since you can set up codes and fingerprints. Managing the codes is simple and can be done directly from the app, including adding and removing access. Overall, I highly recommend this lock and will be purchasing 3 more for my home and office.

Brad W: Our old deadbolt needed to be replaced and I thought it was time to consider a smart lock. I was a little unsure about going this direction, but after doing some research I found out that smart locks are actual more secure than a keyed dead bolt. I went this this brand because of the good reviews, price point and I really liked the integrated fingerprint reader.
It was easy to install and we love the ease of use. We can easily scan our finger print or punch in our code to unlock rather than fumbling with finding the right key.
There was an initial problem with battery drain. I put brand new batteries in and within a few days they needed to be replaced. I contacted the company and they responded quickly with a solution. I'm no longer dealing with that issue. Their customer service is great.

Sebastien Brault: I purchased the Fingerprint and Keypad Smart Deadbolt with high hopes of enhancing my home security and enjoying the convenience of keyless entry. Initially, the deadbolt seemed to be a promising solution, offering both fingerprint and keypad access options. Unfortunately, my experience with this product has been far from satisfactory, as it stopped functioning in less than a year of use.

The fingerprint and keypad features were initially reliable and easy to use. However, after several months, I started to notice some inconsistencies in their performance. The fingerprint scanner occasionally failed to recognize my fingerprints, and the keypad sometimes required multiple attempts to input the correct code.

To my dismay, after less than a year, the Smart Deadbolt ceased to function altogether. The fingerprint scanner, keypad, and even the traditional key entry stopped working simultaneously, leaving me locked out of my own home. This incident caused significant inconvenience and frustration.

Stan G: First, I want to say I really like the lock and its functionality but very disappointed that in 2 years (or less) it’s failing. I visited the U-tec blog pages and I see lots of people are having the same issue where the fingerprint function stops working in a relatively short period of time. I find myself in a situation where I’m not confident in spending another few hundred dollars on another U-tec product that may have the same functional flaw. Support can't help because it's off warranty after only 2 years. Going forward I will start looking for a more reliable product from another manufacturer and feel obligated to post a review on Amazon and your blog page relaying my experiences with this product.

Darius B: Update: Managed to remove the key and found that sanding it down prevented it from getting jammed. Have therefore updated my review to 4 stars.

I purchased this item in September 2020 but was only able to install it just as my house was under construction. After installation and while testing the item, I discovered that the key provided with the lockset could not be removed after it had been inserted (although it could lock/unlock). After struggling for over an hour, I managed to remove the key. I then tried with the second key provided and the same problem occurred. I have not been able to remove the second key despite trying for a further two hours. With the key jammed in the lockset, the item is unusable.

Amazon Customer: I figured with the 4.2 ratings on this device it was gonna be good to go. Now in some aspects it is, but others, it will make you go crazy. I was very excited to buy this and use it, but my excitement has disappeared and too much time tryin to make all these items work correctly

- Software is limited
- Software is slow to load the settings of the lock
- To unlock your door with the app is slow
- IFTTT doesnt work well with it..So far it works 10% of the time
- Google Assistant works even less than 10% of the time
- I frequently get jammed door messages on my phone. I've reinstalled it 3x and still get them

If you want this lock for the keypad and fingerprint and no app then id give it a 3/5 cause of the price and you know there's jammed door messages coming
