This before and after is after two weeks with the two recommended doses. Red Cherry shrimp, neons, snails and pleco all fine. GSA2k: Been using for several years for all my 10 tanks. When blue green algae is 1st seen, just put in as directed and by next day problem resolved. Safe on plants and fish.

V. Davis: I used this on my 100 gal discus tank. It actually works. Blue Green slime was gone in 2 days. I had a decent amount that was a real pain to remove by hand.

Moriah Keith: I had a blue-green algae infestation in my 23 gallon tank that houses freshwater gobies (sensitive to water quality problems) and some nerite snails. It was overtaking my plants and basically looked awful. I used Ultralife blue-green slime stain remover and now the issue is minor. I dosed the tank with added air stones as directed, waited 48 hours and dosed again and then I dosed once week with water changes for the last 2 weeks. With every dose, the blue green algae dies back significantly. There were no issues at all with the health or behavior of life forms in my tank. It’s not an instant fix but it does work.

Ok….I am a bit of a newbie to fish and aquariums but I do a lot of consulting with Dr. Google and now, after five months with my lovely little female betta, Kiro, I am fast becoming a fish person. I was gifted Kiro by a neighbor when my husband died and she has given me a hobby that is relaxing and fun. Never thought of a fish, but now I love them. Kiro arrived in a one gallon tank which was quickly switched out to a Fluval Spec V with all the trimmings. I am too lazy still to work on live plants so Kiro has a major assortment of silk plants that are rotated weekly. Coconut huts, castles, porcelain logs, floating logs….if Amazon sells it, she has it.
Now about 20 days ago I started getting an algae bloom. Soon my poor Kiro was swimming in pea soup. I made a quick consultation with Dr. Google and came up with the following plan.
