Roger & Tricia Ann S: These have been a lifesaver for all the Bettas and shrimp we have rescued! Not only has it helped calm them down, bring out their colors, help heal their injuries and infections but put more pep into their lives. Our sorority tank getting a bit stressed and noticed some fin rot, we added 5 leaves right away and what a huge difference it has made with our girls. Our fish tend to heal faster and happier with these vs the liquid medicine if we do not have to go to those extremes. It does create a more natural dark water environment which is why it helps kill their stress, may not be pretty or convenient for the owner but it's not about us it's about what is best for the fish!
No matter where you get your leaves I highly recommend boiling your leaves at least for 3-5 minutes you will still reap great tannins whether you're adding these directly to your tank or for a tea extract concoction. Be sure to sift the tea extract through some cheese cloth or very fine mesh strainer to catch any ride along or matter that has stripped off of the leaves. A little goes a long way especially for smaller 1-5 gal or nano tanks. If you bend the leaves a few times and tear them or crumble them...

Normand Richard: Not sure whether it does any good for the betta but there are 2 issues that you should be aware. They are very large leaves so not for a small aquarium. I think you would need at least a 15-gallon or larger tank to be useful, and it turned our little tank water green. Not a particularly attractive look. Maybe in a very large tank, you wouldn't notice the green tinge?

Add a few to my Beta aquarium to make it a Dark Water one.
The leaves look great and teinted the water nicely.
Now I just need a nice vibrant colored Beta.

Jay: A Must Have For Betta Fish Owners
I have personally seen these Indian Almond Leaves help increase quality of life for both a male and female Betta.
The male Betta had a fin biting habit when I rescued him and had almost bit his tail away. These Indian Almond Leaves helped him feel more comfortable and he has not bit his fins since I have used these leaves, and his fins are now making a full recovery.
The female Betta was rescued with swim bladder. Moved her to the hospital tank, gave her a little bit of cooked skinned peas as a snack (old trick for swim bladder if you didn't know. And placed an Indian Almond leaf from this brand. She stayed near the leaf the entire time, and you could tell the presence of the leaf helped keep her at ease during her recovery. *Very Important*- when you use these leaves and it is time to transfer them from the hospital tank back to the main tank, you must slowly reaclimate them because these leaves lower the PH and can and will send them into shock and possibly not make it if you don't slowly readjust the PH back to normal over up to a 5 day period depending on severity.
I have heard stories from other life long Betta...

AmandaAmanda: These leaves are amazing! I have had bettas in the past, but never knew how to properly care for them until recently...These leaves take time to start letting off their color, however, when they do, you’ll have one happy and chill betta. I used to keep my betta in a bigger filtered tank with a heater, but come to find out it totally stressed him out. He started getting sick, with fin rot and Gill flukes. (Some bettas like calm quiet water...which is what they live in naturally.) After removing the filter, putting him in a smaller hospital tank (for two weeks to kill off flukes) and doing a salt dip(research this!), Sammy our mustard betta is getting so much better. He even started making his very first bubble nest. 😍 Now, in between water changes, I take tap water and put an almond leaf with a little bit of aquarium salt into a pitcher and let it sit until his next water change. I know so much about bettas now, after having this little guy. You’ll see the water color has a more natural look “dirty” to it. Bettas naturally live in small rice patty puddles. My betta has done a complete turn around. His full flukes are disappearing because the swelling is finally going...
