Lori Clarke: The bed was shipped out and arrived very quickly.
It was easy to put together, although it had a few missing pegs which are very important in the construction of the bed,which was disappointing.
Overall, it is a nice bed and the hardware is very sturdy.
My son is pleased with his new bed and the price was good so I would recommend this bed as a great space saving option.

SD: Me llegó muy rápido, la caja era enorme y pesada por lo que me costó un poco de trabajo moverla. Una vez en su ubicación, armar la cama fue facilisimo. Me tomó una hora usando solo un desarmador punta phillips (cruz). La calidad de la cama es buena, los cajones y el hardware están muy bien. Por este precio la recomiendo ampliamente.

Background : This is the 6 or 7th southshore set i assemble
Price : get it while its on sale
Quality : Its mdf , it look nice for the price . As with any mdf furniture , it doesn’t handle "hits" too well ( the black layer glued to the mdf will peel or break. In a normal usage you should NOT worry about it. If you have kids well , you never know what they will try to do ;)
Assembly quality : This is my second set of spark model and it has changed from the last one. This set now has metal rail over plastic , which is a HUGE plus,much easier to open/close drawer . In exchange they modified the way you set up the front of the drawer and its now using 2 wood pin + metal nut. It work but the front panel is a bit more “loose” . Previous model had 2 plastic pins on each side and securely attach the drawer to the front panel. Not a huge thing here , if you have kids that want to destroy it , its much easier with the new...

Chris B: I bought this bed before I started my second year of college (owner for 3 years). The vendor shipped for free to my apartment and it arrived on time. The assembly was a pain, and it took probably 2-3 hours to completely put together. The bed itself is not very sturdy, but it has withstood 3 move-in and move-outs during my time switching apartments. The drawers are not as deep as you would like, but they do store a significant amount of clothing. I am able to keep 12 adult hoodies in one of the drawers. The biggest downside is the handles; they are very sharp and can seriously injure you if you're not careful. My advice is to change them as soon as you can. I never did, mostly because I'm a lazy college student but I haven't had too much trouble with the handles. I would not advise this bed for anyone taller than 5'10''.

Giancarlo Croce: South Shore Spark Collection Twin Mates Bed, Pure Black  This is, by a long shot, the worst piece of furniture I have ever bought from Amazon. I'm an old hand at assembling KD furniture. This was next to impossible to do, following the directions. Fortunately, my experience made this task possible, but tedious and unpleasant. But even if the directions had been good, this is a dangerous, ugly, horrible bed. The thing is just prickly with sharp edges. From the tray edge along the mattress, to the razor sharp corners, to the edges and corners of the drawers (which don't fit flush or square) to the hard, sharp, metal drawer pulls (which are likely to cause someone serious injury when getting in or out of the bed.

The platform is so flimsy that even a high quality mattress can't make it comfortable. The drawer runners are the only support under the thin planking that the mattress rests on. And you can feel them when you are on top of the mattress. The entire bed is made of a laminate covered sawdust board. There is almost no way to move this bed, once assembled, without having someone hold each corner perfectly flat and square. The slightest pressure...

AL PM: I bought this bed because when I was researching box spring mattresses, but was getting so discouraged because the cheapest one I could find had a $200 delivery fee.

I hopped on Amazon and started searching for a basic little platform bed. I liked this one because it was under $150, and had drawers. I then purchased a 7" memory foam mattress from Overstock. It fits so perfectly!

Bed came in a box that had a few rips, but the bed itself seemed okay. My husband was dubious as he pulled the pieces out and checked them, because some of the particle board had cracks in it. But, a little wood glue and some clamps, and I guess it worked out, because he put it all together himself one Saturday morning (yay daddy!) I set it up with some cute bedding, and presto, our little girl transitioned from a toddler bed to a big girl bed.

I moved her clothes to the drawers just in time for the new baby who took over the dresser, and she is a very happy little girl. If this lasts, it will be classy enough to make it through to high school. I may buy another one and store it in the garage for my newborn!

Height is good for children, it's fairly low...

DK: The bed comes from a Canadian company and I live in Southern Florida, so the shipment had to travel quite far. The box arrived beaten, crumpled, and practically in tatters so I was anticipating a damaged product. Fortunately, the parts are separated and packaged in such a way that there wasn't even a scratch!

Building it was surprisingly easy and didn't require any real muscular effort. I've assembled furniture from Target, Walmart, and K-Mart, and this was by far the best. Very user-friendly instructions. It came with a dark "touch up" marker in the event you scratch any of the wood.

Material is very nice quality with a rich color. The components all fit as promised. The drawers slide in and out nicely. The "handles" of the drawers look classy. While they don't have sharp edges, they are metal so if you bang into them, OUCH.

I had very low expectations due to the low price of this bed, but I was very pleasantly surprised.

P.S.---the bed does sit low to the floor, so you may wish to measure in your room ahead of time to see if you need a higher bed.
