The Zinus Tonja Platform Bed is the perfect combination of comfort, convenience, and overall satisfaction. With a wood headboard and frame with metal interior support for added sturdiness, this king-sized bed is the perfect addition to any bedroom. Plus, the non-slip tape on the wooden slats prevents your mattress from moving, making for a better night's sleep. And with its easy and simple assembly, you won't have to worry about box springs ever again! Get the best bed for your bedroom with the Zinus Tonja Platform Bed. MelMelMelMel: This bed is exactly what we wanted when we decided to upgrade to a king and redesign our room. This is a king pictured but for now we used our old queen size comforter. It was easy to assemble and done very quickly. This is our 2nd Zinus bed and I love their designs. This is a good quality bed. The wood looks only very slightly manufactured but still has that farmhouse look. I only wish I had considered the headboard would not show after adding the bedding. We used (2) 12 inch deep twin xl mattresses. You can see from the pic not much shows after you add pillows.
NOTE: Make note of measurements!!! This bed frame is only 75.6" wide. Most twin xl's (2) or king mattress are actually 76" or (2x38") be sure to watch the measurements of your mattress. Foam seem to be a little narrower. Our hybrid mattresses ended up being over 40" wide after opening. It was too late to return the frame so the cheapest option was to modify the bed. We added (2) 2x6 board to each side and stained them with Walnut stain. Then added more feet (not pictured) and stained them with Kona stain.
I rated the sturdiness a 3 only because it is a simple construction and not a floor platform bed. I do...

Wing ChanWing Chan: We really like this bed frame. Very simple but feels solid. It was so easy to put together too. It was one big sheet of instructions. Probably took about 40 minutes to put together. The only issue is the head board is a little warped. Does not bother me much just a little annoying. Other wise very satisfied and highly recommend!

Kindle Customer: I was worried when this box came as the box was mangled....It had minor damage to both ends of the frame boards on the end of the bed. If it wasn't for the good packing job it would have been busted up. It's a nice bonus having some of the styrofoam in plastic so it doesn't get everywhere. I like the velcro support on the slats as they help them from sliding. The slats are a little wiggly but not bad. We bolted the headboard to the wall for extra sturdiness and so far I have no complaints, this bed is holding up great!

Maugham: For the money, this is an excellent bed frame. I would have preferred written instructions showing what to do step by step. However, I realize that doing that is multiple languages would add cost. The videos that were posted were pretty useless. One went so fast you really couldn't use it. I like instructions where page one shows all of the pieces, tools and parts. Page two shows you how to lay everything out. Page three goes through the assembly step by step. Page four is for common issues, problems, misunderstandings or other things that have been reported in feedback. I realize this is asking a lot, but somebody should create a business that does standard instructions for things. The software manufacturers have kind of done that. And the Japanese are great at it - but if you're an old guy like me you will remember the sad and comical instructions that used to come with Japanese products back in the '50s and early '60s -- you know -- that past century. Anyway - nice bed frame for the money.

Duke Fleed: The bed material is good and the instructions are well laid out. It is also well packaged. However:
1. The color in real life is quite darker than all of the images in the listing.
2. Be careful assembling. Tightening when screws and bolts are not perfectly aligned can strip the threads or worse, pull the nuts out of the holes they have been pre-set in. I am an experienced assembler and for a few screws, I had to gently use additional tools to adjust the nut that Zinus had preassembled prior to tightening the screws, thereby avoiding a potential disaster.
3. My headboard arrived with a defect. It looked like a significant gash in one of the wood panels. The packaging was not damaged, so it can only be poor quality control. After weeks of back and forth emails with Zinus, and them promising to replace my headboard, I had to settle on a measly 15% refund as compensation. I told them multiple times that I was not interested in a monetary compensation but all they kept doing was buying time and coming back with a higher percentage. In the end, I got sick of the back and forth and settled for the money.
All in all a good bed, if you don't have to deal with Zinus. Just be...

LL: Quality materials. Very well packed. Best DIY furniture assembly I’ve ever completed.
All wood bed. Looks great. Headboard seems slightly darker than in pics, but my tween daughter loves it.
Packed incredibly well. Double boxed. All styrofoam is wrapped (no flaking all over your self or your home).
Assembly is best I’ve experienced. Every piece is labeled with stickers and so is every connection between two pieces (connect point A to point A). Lots of extra hardware included. They provided an Allen wrench ratchet (you’ll want to use a drill with Allen wrench bit but seriously who gives you a nice ratchet?!). All the holes lined up perfectly. Nice little touches like slats held be Velcro and anti slip to hold your mattress in place.
Every furniture manufacturer and packager should check this item out. It’s a new standard.

Narda Mc: My husband put the bed together by himself and it was relatively easy for him to do. We have it on carpet so it limits any movement, so I would say it is quite sturdy and supports the mattress well, really no need of a foundation/box spring.
