Timmy T: Hats off to Turbro for this electric fireplace. We had a dozen people over for the holidays and nearly everyone said they wanted one of their own.

Pros: Very pleasing to the eye. The flames are therapeutic to me and highly relaxing. It will also heat up a closed room very quickly and a larger more open room over the course of an hour or two. Sitting in front of this fireplace with the lady and a nice cup of hot chocolate is a warming experience. I don't get sick of the flames at all and often keep them on when not using the heating elements. It's just such a beautiful piece and one of my better Amazon purchases. I hope it lasts a long time! I've used the heck out of it for the last 45 days and so far so good! Anyone who visits WILL say something positive about it and how they want one for their own room.

cons: No crackling sound. I put an old smart phone behind the fireplace and play a YouTube video 24/7 on loop. That works fine. Also, the buttons are very LOUD. So, when the house is quiet and you're shutting down your living space for the evening, it WILL make a LOUD BEEP when it's time to power down. Not a deal breaker for me, but slightly...

Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: Not happy with Amazon but the supplier did assist with our issue. The unit started to make odd noises (we wanted to return it) and Amazon only gave us credit for 80% or 20% restocking fee which I find unacceptable when this unit didn't last 5 months. Amazon also said it would cover the shipping cost however, the UPS driver wouldn't accept it so that was another $40.00 to ship. Feel like we got totally ripped off. It took a few days but the supplier did give us a $40.00 off gift card on a new one so they did come through.

UPDATE - This fireplace is not even 12 months old. We purchased it in November of 2022. It's absolutely beautiful and we use it daily in the winter. It started making an odd noise and now we cannot have the heater on. It's making funky noises and you just can't run the heater any longer without a constant annoying noise. Calling Amazon to get my money back or the item replaced. Couldn't be more disappointed.

Rosalie: Love love love this unit. This is the 5th fireplace that I've bought so I know what's out there lol. Other modeither were returned because they were broken lights didn't worked or it just did not look like what the pictures and video showed. I wanted a unit with specific controls and this has it, plus it looks great. The wood framing goes so nicely with my decor and looks like I paid more for it. The different colored flames are great. The remote on the other hand stinks. It works, but cheaply made. Not sure how long it'll last. Plus, the sensor gets picked up by my tv thing so I need to aim directly at it to work at times. Either way I'm so glad I didn't give up finding a fireplace that I was happy about!

The good news is, the heater is attractive and I get heat. But that's the only thing that works properly. The temperature control does not work as documented. I get no temperature read out at all. The up/down controls on the remote do nothing.

I get no flames at all. The flame buttons toggle through the flame choices but at no point in time do I get flames.

I'm in contact with tech support but the process is annoying. I sent them the invoice, a picture of the serial number on the back and a picture with the flame choice lit and no flames visible. They keep asking for a video. What will a video show that the picture does not?

I'm very disappointed.

So I have an update: I contacted the company and they sent me a new heater. This one works. I'm pleased with the heat output and the flame pattern is fun.

The only criticism I still have is the temperature control - basically, there is none. It tells me it's on but I don't get an actual temperature reading. I'll live with it.
