Jessica: This is my second tub shroom I have purchased now - this one is an upgraded one with a chrome plate so it looks like a normal bathroom drain. I love this thing! It makes showering with long hair so much easier and it catches all of the hair so I don't have to worry about tying to get all of the loose hairs off my hand when I condition my hair, I can just let the water rinse it off and know that this will catch it. Just make sure you clean it each time you shower because it does back up water when it gets too full of hair.

Intuit: Tub Shroom where have u been all my life?
I purchased a tub and a sink shroom. My condo was built in 1993 and it fits the sink and tub perfectly. My only complaint is cleaning the tub shrooms. Unless someone has a better idea, I pull off the hair and gunk off with tissue. If it gets gross or discolored, going to soak it in diluted bleach and scrub with old toothbrush to get it clean again

newtonsfigs: I bought these to use in the bathroom to catch hair that seemed to defy any other solutions I tried to keep it out of the drain. While it does a great job catching hair, it also makes the water pool near the drain instead of draining normally, causing soap and gunk build up. I stopped using the TubShroom and use only the SinkShroom.

Mars T: It’s quite effective in trapping the hair. I would also like it to plug the drain when I need to fill the sink or tub with water. I know that’s a lot to ask, but I find it a tad bothersome to have to switch out this product with the original stopper when I want to fill the sink or the tub with water.

Professor PotrzebieProfessor Potrzebie: I've had a TubShroom for five years and it is the best thing since hot water. My only complaint about it was that the white material it was made from turned black after a while. It still worked, but the aesthetics left something to be desired. I bought a SinkShroom soon after, and it has served us well as my wife likes to wash her hair in our bathroom sink. It began to get discolored, too, and in shopping for a replacement I found that the design has changed - the stainless cap looked like it would fix the discoloration issue, and I bought the tub/sink pair.
It appears that other details of the design have changed as well. The material used has changed, at least in color. But the biggest change is the contour of the lower flange that must compress inwards to seal against the wall of the drain pipe. No matter what I did, it went in cock-eyed and wonky. I fixed it by trimming out three of the 18 "petals"of that flange. Now it will behave itself go in evenly. It looks great and I'm confident it will work as well as the last one did, but since I had to do some surgery on it I'm docking it a star.
The TubShroom has a similar issue and I haven't modified it yet. I expect it will...

Jay Port: While all these Shroom products work, the chrome versions really are much better than the regular all plastic ones. The metal at the top makes insertion into the drain a much easier process; you have a fixed surface that won't change its shape as you push the Shroom into the drain. The plastic on the vertical part of the item is also stiffer than the non-chrome version. As a result, Shroom usually sits straight up in the drain the first time, as opposed to all different angles on the non-chrome versions. The metal piece is only a thin cover over the regular plastic underneath, but it greatly helps. Of course, the chrome cover also looks much classier than white plastic.
No longer do I need to use drain cleaners on my bathroom sink to clean out hair, toothpaste and other gunk. The Shroom catches it all and wipes clean with a paper towel.

D Fezza: I love that it catches hair so well without clogging the drain. The only thing is I find it really hard to clean. And I thought it would be more durable. The tub one is fine but the sink one is looking poorly. It might be too that I kind of have to squish it in to fit.
