Nancy Wilson: This woodburning kit is SO MUCH FUN for a beginner! Explicit instructions and a wide variety of options for different effects. The safety recommendations are useful, especially for someone new to pyrography. My only frustration is having to wait for a tip to cool down before switching to another---but that is necessary for the integrity of the tip and personal safety. And the customer support is amazing! When I received my kit, it was missing one of the components. I emailed their team, and within a couple days Pavel got the piece in the mail to me with the tracking number provided. (Now I can't say as much for the USPS since TRUArt's 3-day shipping actually took a week!) Looking forward to honing my skill and expanding my set with more of TRUArt's products.

JoshuaJoshua: I bought this as a Christmas gift for my wife and it works incredibly well! It heated up quickly, came with SO many fun attachments, and even a gorgeous case. With the rough experience we have had in the past with other brands, this one really got her excited. She used it to do the two drawings attached as animated character coasters for the house!

cm: We are novices to pyrography and read many reviews and descriptions on a variety of products. Our major concern was comfort of grip and longevity of pen. Some reviewers of this product warned how easy it was to break. We were very concerned, but decided to try this product first. We read and reread the instructions, wanting to make sure we did not break any nib off in the pen and ruin the product. Well, we just finished burning 120 garden nameplates and this was both very fun and easy to do. If you just let the pen do the work, just glide it gently on the surface, you not only save the pen, but your hand, wrist and forearm. Rarely do you come across a product that far exceeds your expectations, but this is one of those products. We are eager to explore this craft more fully and could not recommend this product more highly. If you respect the pen, respect the heat, respect the craft, you will have days and months of creative enjoyment.

D.B.: I am a huge fan of woodburning 'art'. There's something about working with wood as a medium, the smell of the smoke it creates, and the tangible, durable results that you get for your work. My 12-year-old son and I love working on projects together.
When our current pen burnt out, I searched Amazon looking to upgrade. I was attracted to TRUart's product based on the quality of the pen as well as the assortment of bits offered. But what really swayed me was the instructional insert that TRU art has created as well as the metal box option.
I received my product and couldn't have been happier with my purchase. The metal box was well worth the extra cost and there are almost too many bits to choose from. The instructional material was incredibly useful. In addition to tips on protecting my pen and pieces, there were detailed suggestions on how to become a better woodburning artist. My son immediately started discussing future projects and I dove into one that I had paused.
